Hi guys and gals, long shot I know. Looking for my first Charger back in 77 or and was so a 69 Charger, Gold, black vinyl roof, black interior, 383 2bbl.
Bought and sold in the late 70's in NW Ohio. I lived in Bowling Green.
Hello guys and gals.. I have developed a very loud screeching noise at cold startup when reving. The condition seems to go away after a few minutes of driving, but I am worried now and I'm trying to prep the Charger for Carlisle trip.
Car details:
1972 Charger
318 rebuilt about 10K miles ago

I have a 72 Charger with rebuilt 318 and a Cold Case aluminum radiator added about 3 years ago. The cooling is great. Guage never gets to half most times. Sometimes though on a hot day, if idling for a long time (10 minutes or more) and the gauge goes say a little more than half, I will get a...
In the 71-74 world, I've been wondering why some 318 cars have a front sway bar and some don't. I have an original base 318 72 charger (Lynch Road car) that has a factory front sway bar. My friend has a factory 318 72 Satellite Sebring Plus (St. Louis car) that does not have a sway bar. Any...
I would like to like the group to talk about the third gen muscle era mopars. Does anyone know how they actually came about? I'm so sick of second Charger's for example. I don't care if I never see another one, because I like ours so much better. They are lower, wider, drive much better. We've...
Hi Guys...1972 Dodge Charger. I have to pull the drive shaft to replace U joints. I'm pretty sure I understand how to do it, but what is the round thing in the pics? Looks like it's attached to a plate that bolts up to the car. Do I need to do anything with this thing? Thankls in advance....
Taking a very long shot at finding Chargers owned in the Late 70's in highschool in NW OHIO (no luck on pics or VIN's):
1) 69 Charger, gold, black vinyl roof, 383 2bbl
2) 69 Charger RT, red originally (overpainted with orange), big N50's on the back with moon mags, 4sp with 383 swap.
3) 70...
Here is an older 4160 style carb I ran on the Charger for many years. It has an electric choke. It ran well, never an issue. Hard to tell what year it is, but looks a lot like the ones used on many BB Chryslers of the early 70's. The numbers on the choke horn are 80454 with 0852 below that...
Greetings, I have a newer, hardly used (maybe 100 miles) 650cfm Edelbrock AVS2 carb. I used it for a bit and went to adjust the idle mixture screws. I got careless and the passenger side tip broke off in the body as you can see in the photos. It was my mistake for sure, but if you can dig out...
I'm getting old and can't remember what grade of oil I should put it for the summer.. 10w bla bla...
The engine is a basically stock 72 hydraulic flat tappet 318 freshly rebuilt last year with some performance goodies. I think I used conventional after the break-in with some zinc additive. It's...
72 Satellite Plus has not run in years. Trying to rotate engine to see if it will free up. But, cannot locate the crank bolt. Is it not accessible through the front pulley? It's a 3 groove pully on an AC car, but can't understand how to put a socket on the crank to try and turn engine... see pic.
Hi Guys,
I came across this charger for sale. I wanted to get some tribal knowledge opinions on this one. Looks very original to me. What do you think over all? I am a little baffled by the SE style tail light lenses. Or, did these lenses sometimes go on base hardtops? Thanks in advance..
1972...
Ordered this months ago for my build, but went with another cam back then. These finally showed up. I could try and return to Lunati, but I think I'll offer it up here for the best online mopar club! Brand new....cam specs are in the pictures. I checked out the lifters (utg style) and they look...
I just rebuilt my 1972 318 and it runs good and I have a couple thousand miles on it now. During some tuning, I decided to do a compression test on all cylinders. Although all cylinders were even pressure, the numbers were only 127ish pounds. I would have thought a fresh engine would be about...
Background... Freshly rebuilt 318. About 2500 miles on it now - went to Carlisle and Nats in it. No issues. Swapped from 20 year old Holley 4160 to a new Edelbrock AVS2 carb. Worked great, had an issue adjusting choke/fast idle at first, but found problem. Everything good for a few days. But...
I put a new Edelbrock AVS2 carb on and am having trouble with the choke pulloff. No matter what setting I set the electric choke dial, I can only get it to "just about" fall off the fast idle. The dial setting is counter clockwise to the last mark. See pics.. If I touch the mechanism, I can push...
