I have a 1970 Roadrunner 383 convertible that has exhaust port #5 twice as hot as all other ports. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Intake issue? Head gasket issue? Water jacket issue? I am going to adjust timing advance to see if that helps.
Thoughts please.
Thanks for the input. I have a 1" aluminum spacer and a "Cool Deck" spacer on top of that to protect the carb bowls from heat. I'll check the "squirters" after warm up and see.
I have a new Brawler 650 on top of my 383. Initial start up it quick and easy. After the car for awhile, it will not restart until it cools off for about 15 minutes. Any tips on calibration techniques? Vapor lock? Air fuel mixture screws?

Well, after pulling the cluster out again, I replaced the new voltage limiter with the 50 year old one I saved. The old Bird loved the old one much better. No issues with the "moving" gauges. Just goes to show you older can be better.
I ran a wire connector directly from the voltage limiter ground to chassis ground to be safe when I initially installed it. I'll try putting the original limiter in.

I know I have fuel. I'll try the coil wire tomorrow. Can I crank this with the ignition key in "run" position and use my remote starter cable switch or do I need to physically turn the key to start position?

Wondering what the actual production numbers were. Iv'e been told 189 and 122 but would like to know mpre precise number.
