    Viking shocks

Hello all, I finally got around to installing the Caltracs and sliders on my 67 Belvedere, and got my shock length. I've settled on Viking Crusaders for shocks, and was wondering if there is a preferred vendor I should deal with? Thanks for any info.

    Block strength

Hello all.. I am very near wrapping up my latest build, a turbo 400 low deck engine, and I am already wondering how far I can honestly push my luck. I have read and learned from friends that turbo builds pretty regularly produce higher numbers at a safe and repeatable level than most power...

    Spark plug recommendation

Hey guys, I am getting very close to running my first turbo build, and it has been recommended that I drop a couple heat ranges on the plugs. The engine is a 383, any favorites? Thanks, Paul

    FOR SALE Freebie

I have a B body 7-1/4 rear axle I just pulled from a 67 Belvedere, no issues, thought I would post it up for free, maybe someone could use one to get a car rolling or something. I'll leave it up for a few days before it hits the dumpster. Can pick up in Bennington Vt.

    Turbo intake

Hello all, I am well on my way to my first turbo build, but I still have some questions, todays is intake manifolds. My build is a blow through carb deal, and it generally is recommended to run a single plane intake. I also hear it recommended that you make the most N/A power possible with...

    8-3/4 cap studs

I found when looking for a source for a set of studs to upgrade from the stock bolts in my 8-3/4 axle, there wasn't a lot of information available. I did decide on ARP part # 250-3012, and they ended up fitting perfectly, all of the coarse threads fit in the carrier housing, and one thread is...

    8-3/4 cap studs

Hello all, I seem to recall at one point in time a stud kit was available to replace the bolts in the caps of an 8-3/4" center section. I swore it was ARP that offered them, but I have looked several times and cannot find them. Did I imagine it, or do they exist? Thanks

    EDM lifters?

I am pondering using the EDM lifters I see for sale, as my solid flat tappet build has a high valve spring load. These lifters supply pressurized oil directly through the lifter to the cam lobe, which seems like a very good idea to me. Has anybody used them or have any feedback on them? Thanks

    8-3/4 Axle question

Hello all, I have a question; I am contemplating using an A body 8-3/4" housing in my 67 Belvedere II, and will have to upgrade to the big bolt pattern axles. I vaguely recall from the last time I bought big bolt pattern axles that they stick out a little further from the axle housing to the...

    Valve springs

Hello all, I have a new set of Edelbrock big block heads I need to change the springs on. It's been a while since I fooled with heads much, and only stock ones then. Using a caliper, which I know probably isn't the most accurate, I come up with an installed height of about 1.994", which seems...

    Edelbrock cylinder heads, oil drains

Hello all, I just received my Edelbrock E street heads (big block), and they look good, but I did notice the oil drain backs are now a few holes rather than what a stock head has. I have to assume they are sufficient, or I would have heard otherwise, just looking for input. I knew a guy years...

    Mopar Performance camshaft help

Hello all, I have a question; I am searching for a camshaft for my new build, and I have a Mopar Performance .528 solid thats been on the shelf for almost 30 years. It has many of the attributes I am looking for; it's a solid, the duration at .050" is in the range I am seeking, the lift is...

    B body engine bays

Hello all, are all B body engine bays physically the same? I ask because I purchased a set of headers for my project that says they will fit a 71 Charger, my project is a 67 Belvedere II. They weren't expensive, and I was pretty sure the bays are the same, so I rolled the dice. I figured I...

    727 drivetrain loss

Hello all, I notice the 14% drivetrain loss used in many of the ET calculators online, but have heard 20% mentioned by users of the 727 auto. Does the 727 really suck up 6% more power than an average automatic? It would be great to hear from anyone who has had their engine dynoed, and then...

    Big block EZ heads

I am considering these heads, the 75 cc version, and they have angled plugs. Can anyone come up with a pic of a set with plugs installed? I looked for over an hour last night to no avail. I would like to head off any potential exhaust to plug problems before I spend the money. Thank you.

    400 blocks

Hello all, I have read varying opinions on what the "good" years of 400 blocks are, some claim thicker bores, others claim more material around the main webs depending on year. The one I just picked up for my build is an April 1973 block. It was the only one I could scare up on short notice...

    Aeromotive A1000 pump

Hello all, I have a question. I just picked up an A1000 pump for my new build. I notice it says suitable for in tank or BELOW tank use. Will this unit function correctly if trunk mounted and pulling from a stock tank? I will of course use the correct size feed line to the pump. Thanks for...

    B engine rods

Hello all, I am building a stock stroke 400 B engine, and am having difficulty in locating an aftermarket rod that is stock length, but uses the now common .990" piston pin. It seems all I find either use the older, bigger Mopar pin, which limits piston selection, or they are an odd length...
