I will continue my search for something better. I’m bummed the roadrunner I was at on sold the week before I could get there.
If anyone has a good roller in Texas I’ve got some cash and a nice 451 in the shop looking for a nice home.
I appreciate the replies guys, I am starting to think that may make sense for me.
Once I get the call the machine work is done and I’m ordering pistons I’ll make a final decision but I am leaning that direction.
I’m not opposed buying cam with a little higher rpm range (6500 max), but I have...
You’re correct sir. I should have said, when I decided to go the stroker route, the compression ratios changed where the whiplash cam wouldn’t be a good fit due to how it builds cylinder pressure for stock lower compression BB mopars.
I am still fine with the targeted rpm range of 1800-5500...
Thanks for the replies guys
I do have the rockers for the Victor heads and the pushrods that he ran, I had them reworked as he dropped a valve in one and it needed repair.
For the 906s I don’t have rockers yet, but I planned to get either the old ductile iron adjustable or 440 source.
For...
Just curious what you guys think a reworked set of 906 heads with new valves and upgrade springs are worth?
New stainless 2.14/1.81 valves and guides from machinist
Hughes 1106 springs
Bowls opened up by machinist for the bigger valves but not ported.
I can run them for a budget 451, but I...
I bought these locally and ended up needing a larger bore. They wouldn’t exchange so I’m trying to recoup my costs.
Great gaskets for someone with aluminum heads trying to squeeze a little more compression.
These retail for $92 each before shipping and tax.
I’m asking $120 plus the ride...
Thanks for the reply 451.
Was the Mallory unilite good overall performance wise? For the price I can pick it up for, it and the firecore B race distributor are about the same.
I appreciate it guys.
Any of you have experience with Mallory unilite or the firecore distributors?
I do like the MSD brand, but they’re awfully proud of them.
Hey guys,
I’m going through the process of getting parts together for my build and I’ve read some have issues worth certain distributors clearing edelbrock heads, especially Victors.
Any that can share what works and what doesn’t, it’s greatly appreciated.
my build will be a 451 with Edelbrock...
Before I went online, I figured I’d check if one of the many head gurus that upgrade/port heads happened for have a couple factory exhaust valves and an intake valve for the big block 77919 heads. These are the 2.20/1.81s
Thanks guys.
Hey guys,
I bought these from a buddy for a good deal hoping to run, while a 440 block I hoped to use initially looked to be okay after a hone, the bores are too far gone for standard bore.
They were mounted to the rods, test fitted, and then a machinist friend said two of the holes wouldn’t...
Thanks to all for your input... my primary questions were to determine compression ratio... I’ve owned Ford mustangs, a GTO, an old impala and a classic chevy pickup... I’ve never experienced such disrespect for asking a simple question: help determining compression ratio, and if the heads were...
