I might be swapping out the 5/16' line fuel tank pickup for a 3/8" fuel line pickup in the '72 Satellite Sebring Plus. I see online hose adaptor samples in either stainless steel or brass. I was just naturally going to purchase brass, but now with a choice I'm not sure the best way to go? Thank you.
On my '70's bracket racer, I had two see-through plastic filters on my Holley double pumper (dual feed-two float bowels) and noticed them only half-full.
At the drag strip, I filled my aluminum fuel can (it was not insulated like the new ones sold today) with dry ice and the vapor/air was...
Reminds me of a silly straw. Looks to be a handy lifesaver, listed both 3/8" and 5/16":

Do you mean the replacement elements or the factory canisters?

Keep one on the floor or seat on passenger side, some day I will mount it somewhere within reach.
I once put out a small flame where the fuel pump fitting was cross threaded and caught fire, using my Levi jacket. The jacket caught fire, but the fuel line flame was extinguished. Stomped on the...
I was just checking air filter clearance myself yesterday (I want to put a '68-'69 340 air cleaner on my 318). The usual element is WiX #42044 (Fram CA305) which is 2 3/4" tall. I found a WIX #42070 (which is for a dual quad Max Wedge) which is only 2 1/8" tall and same diameter.
I was curious who runs this type of intake manifold either at the strip or on the street on their 383 (any brand intake, either 180 or 360 design)? Never seen one on a car, although back in the day I was tempted to put one on my parents factory new '71 383 Road Runner.
My little 1970 Porsche 914 had a 1.7 liter VW four cylinder motor (fuel-injected) and a 5-speed where both fourth and fifth were overdrives. I could only use 5th if I could maintain a steady speed of at least 70 mph, otherwise did not have enough torque at lower speed/rpm. I was always trying to...
I guess there is no way to manipulate the laws of physics. I'm running a 318 two barrel right now, converting to a 340 shortly, then I am going to de-stroke the 340 to a 305 (billet crank should be ready in another week or so). It should be interesting to compare my MPG figures and see which is...
The EPA paper is good when comparing theory and actual fuel consumption as measured, but there could be exceptions in some rare cases (like a larger displacement engine outperforming a smaller displacement engine-MPG wise). Unfortunately, the EPA did not find or mention any exceptions or state...
