Now that would have been smart to do LOL..OH WELL...just ordered an new tank from Rockauto a second ago..mine looked like it was ready to start leaking soon anyway *g*...funny thing it is a tank that is made a few hours from where I live..but it is still cheaper buying in the the states and...
The only way I could get a better ground on the tank is if I bury it LOL...I think maybe over time the tank may have caved in someting...everything works outside the tank so it has to be the float..I see all models have the same tank and only difference with sender is the hose size.
AL
nThe gauge works and the sender works just not in the tank...it seems the float is not comming up..the float is not leaking..just getting hung up.
Which is why I was wondering if they have different size tanks or senders.

Hey guys need some info on Tanks. I bought a new fuel sender for my 66 and it didn't read on the gauge...checked it and double checked it..so stupid me I figured it was the sender...bought another one..checked it and installed it doesn't read on the gauge. Dropped the tank to have a look..best...
Thanks rscurtis...my rubber hoses are really not in the best shape right now which I why I didn't want to pull the tank..I am sure my luck both would spit LOL
Yes after one sender not reading right years ago I check them all now.
Thanks again
Al
Here we go again..seems every car I get needs a sender. Mine reads but at fuel it is 1/4 tank.
Anyway have a new sender on the way, I have done many of them some the tank comes down others just drop it a bit..so does the tank need to come out on a 66 or from the look of the sender it just might...
X2 on the swearing LOL. I have done a few as well with the glass in and yes it is doable.......how is your front glass? If it has any chips or bad marks on it maybe it might be an idea to replace it and have the headliner done right at the same time.

Nice set up, looks well thought out. I was in the same boat last year wanting it all hidden. I put my amps under the back seat, used the undercover 2 speakers under the front buckets and two of the old Pioneer tune-up speakers mount high on the kick panels. The cool thing is the head unit fit...
I have on a couple cars...my advice if your going to do it, spend the extra bucks and get a good gauge. I found the cheap knock offs neddle bounce all over the place, also make sure it has the proper ohm settings to work with our Mopars.
