I have been welding in patches on my '63 Polara. I am having one issue. At the front of the rear wheel opening, where the quarter rolls under, I can't tell exactly how far the patch should go. If someone will send or post a picture of an early B front of the wheel opening, from the bottom, I...
Hoping that someone can tell me about the bracing that goes from the wheel well to the inside of the quarter panel on an early B convertible. Appears to have some type of rubbery material between the brace and the quarter. Is it an adhesive?
I purchased a pair of rear wheel wells for early B bodies. My '63 convertible seems to have a different shape in the rearmost part. Almost appear to be flattened somewhat. Anybody with a convertible able to confirm or deny this observation on my part? Easy enough to modify if necessary.
Hoping that someone can share a close up picture of where the quarter panel and the rocker panel are joined. My '63 overlaps the quarter. I have been finding a lot of poorly done sheetmetal work on this thing. Just need to see what's correct.
Thanks in advance
Thank you, Longram. I have removed the front and rear splash shields. I don't think that the fender is original to the car based on rhe way the trim holes are drilled. Maybe the steel piece that captures the 10-25 studs needs to slide closer to the door? The way it sits, the stud closest to the...
Duh, I posted this in the '66 up forum. Here goes.
This is probably a question with an obvious answer, but;
The '63 Polara (not a 500) that I purchased last year has the left fender moldings boogered up. I managed to get the thin one off and made some modified Ford push clips to secure it.
The...
Perfect pictures in your "thread". Thank you. I missed a washer bag on Ebay that was supposedly for a 1963 Dodge. Always late. That's me. It had a third grommet at the bottom and the hose connection was low. I saved the two pictures for reference. Interesting differences.
Vandan's pictures really help. Obviously my '63 wasn't equipped with windshield washers. Owner's manual tells how to operate "if so equipped". I think that I have the mounting figured for the hose/check valve bracket onto one of the master cylinder backing plate studs (see attached). Vandan...
bolson6333 set me up with some of the pieces that I need. Great guy, BTW. Still looking for a washer bag, bracket, passenger side nozzle.
Can anyone share a picture of a '63 firewall, showing the proper mounting, not only of the WSW hose bracket but also the mounting for the heater control...
Both the seat back and seat bottom will fit from a '65 2dr B body into a '63 2dr B body? I wonder if there is a difference in back seats for the convertible?
If anyone has pics of an installed 1963 windshield washer setup, stock or modified, I would appreciate any closeups. It appears that the nozzles must fasten below the cowl? Conversion to electric may or may not be realistic. I am late on the original that Bolson6333 had for sale. His pictures...
That's where I F'd up. The hose cutout fit so well on the lower when I mocked it up.
60 years ago, I wouldn't have made that bonehead mistake.
I know that y'all are having a big chuckle. I'm calling myself names, and they aren't nice names.
I really can't thank you all for enlightening me...
Bingo. I have a non AC radiator and the shroud is for an AC car.
DUH! Do I feel like a dummy. I either need to find a non AC top half for the shroud or do some extensive slice and dice to this one. The Bouchillon AC compressor mount for my poly wouldn't allow a AC radiator position hose.
Thank...
I must be doing something wrong or old timer's disease is setting in.
Because I'm going to install AC, I'm trying to put a fan shroud on my '63 Polara with a 318 poly engine. Pulled the radiator for cleaning, mounted the 4 shroud brackets. Dry fit the 2 piece shroud. Fit well, even around the...
