It was in the 60s today here in Southeast Michigan. Cruising around, I noticed this 69 RT Charger sitting in a bar parking lot. Seeing the empty spot next to it, I pulled in and took a picture.
I picked up a piece of translucent glass from an old gas pump. I used a nice piece of wood to make a box for it. I had an under the counter fluorescent light that I had picked up cheap at an estate sale. I pulled the guts out of the plastic case, and mounted them right in the box.
I figured all you 1968 Charger guys would appreciate this. From a 1968 Detroit Tigers scorebook. It’s hard to believe that the MSRP on the charger went down from 67 to 68
I have been waiting quite a few years for one of the model manufactures to re-issue a 1968 Coronet RT kit. I came across this one the other day, although I am a little disappointed that it is a convertible. I am going to try and paint it close to the color of my car. That seems to be a bit of a...
I came across this 1969 Detroit Tigers score book at an estate sale. I called a friend who collects Tiger stuff to see if he wanted it, and he said sure pick it up for me. There are about a half dozen car ads in it. I thought you guys would find this one interesting.
When I had the bodywork and paint done on my car, the paint shop lost my fender tag. Before I sent it off to the paint shop, I did a rubbing of the tag. There is a place in South Carolina called MMC that claims to have an original from the factory machine that made the tags. They want $400 to do...
A bolt on one of the rollers came loose. Because the top of the door is connected to the opener, that prevented the door from falling on my RT. Had it back in place in 30 minutes. It missed the top of the car by a foot
It’s not a B body, but I hope you enjoy this picture anyway. Written on the back is June 3 1962, West of Denver, elevation 11,739, snow in june. That is my grandmother and my grandfather snapped the picture. That is their recently purchased 1962 dodge dart slant 6 two door sedan in the...
I stopped at a garage sale today, and I noticed this road runner wheel cover in the garage. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I have always been under the impression that these wheel covers were some thing made out of cardboard and used by dealerships for advertisement. This one is made out of metal...
As I’m sure all of you know, back in the golden age of muscle cars, All three of the television networks started their new season of episodes in September. The first episode of Adam 12, was shown on September 21, 1968. Obviously, it was filmed before that date. That makes me wonder If the big...
Unfortunately, the weather held down the attendance of classic cars and spectators. I know that a lot of car guys don’t really care about certain options on a car, but nonetheless I think it must be extremely rare for a 1968 Road Runner to have factory AC. I think the body of the 1968 charger...
It’s 1967 and the car you’re driving didn’t come with seatbelts. You decide that it would be a good idea to have them in your car. What do you do? The answer should be obvious. You run down to Montgomery Ward and pick some up. Once there you could pick one up in your choice of color with...
I came across this cool car radio, and for $4 I couldn’t pass it up. I didn’t get it with the radio, but it originally came with a quick disconnect mount. When it was all wired in, when you plugged the radio in it was hooked up to the car’s power and antenna. When you pulled it out, you could...
I came across this car 8 track last week. It is made by Learjet, model A 260. The unusual function of it is that it is a recorder. There are jacks on either side, one for a mic with an on off switch, and the other for just a mic. I know Mopar came out with a cassette player and recorder in the...
I found this lighter today at the local flea market. In the box and in NOS shape. Meaningful to me because that is the assembly plant my RT was made at.
While visiting Florida over Christmas and New Year, we went to a car show. Not very big, and only a few Mopars, but a very interesting fake Hemi. Someone went through a lot of time and money to make an LS Chevy look like a gen 1 Hemi. The first thing I thought was couldn’t he have modified a 440...
How many of you guys remember these? I found this one at an estate sale. It was in pretty rough shape, but for two bucks I got it thinking I might be able to make it look good again. The motor was in fairly good condition, except for the broken spark plug and missing battery compartment cover...
