Charger project, fuel injected 440 magnum, .030 over, balanced, 915's port matched, 2.14/1.81 inch int/exh valves, 727 TF. pwr steering, pwr brakes....Whats not to like??

This project started out with a running, driving, licensed 1968 Charger R/T that was my daily driver for several years. Then I decided that it would be a good idea to take it apart and cherry it out...over a decade into it so far. Painting it factory (SS1) Sun Fire Yellow. Since this is real XS number matching Charger I'm going to be gentle with the mods. Mostly bolt on goodies that any Mopar purest wouldn't have a duck fit about when I eventually sell the car. Had to replace the typical areas on these Chargers, trunk floor and extensions, quarters and lower rear valance as well as the front aprons. Floor was remarkably solid only requiring a couple of small patches around the toe boards. Frame rails are solid as well as the torsion bar cross member. Pretty much cancer free now.

Basically I just layed some plastic sheeting under the car and taped plastic siding from the car to the sheet on the ground. This was to keep the undercoating from getting everywhere and screwing up the floor in my garage. Hooked up my blower at one end to promote air flow and evacuate the fumes, also secondary keeping me vertical and breathing. If you look at the latest updated photos I think you'll get the idea.

Finally had the chance to get some painting done. Engine bay, trunk and cabin got sprayed.

Getting ready for the money shot. Even though I'm re-installing the vinyl top I wanted to paint and seal the roof steel so no more oxidation...

Excellent work, and thanks for the updates.. I just picked up a '68 >> a rest of my life car ..nothing like this, but it's a nice driver '68 so I'm crazy happy with it. Doing the dash and cluster now. My book, they are the best looking Mopar ever made. Can't wait to see this one completed.

I'm with you, 68 Chargers are sexy animals. Congrats picking up your 68, they are getting tough to find without giving up your left nut...

Got the ProFlo 4 in this weekend, nice looking unit. See if we can drag that 50 yr old technology into the 21st century. Looking forward to driving a fuel injected 440 powered 68 Charger..

Started running the fuel lines for the EFI system, 3/8 stainless front to back w/SS PTFE braided connections to the tank, should be bulletproof....

Played carrot in front of the donkey today. Worked on some of the gravy projects. Started the EFI install on the the 440. Was able to get the hard line fabricated and getting a feel for the general layout of the harnesses.

Exceptional .. not a word I use often. I just bought a '68, they are my #1 car and have been since I owned one in 1970. Thanks for pics, great work, keep them coming. It's like playboy for motor heads.
