It has never been out of the family and it was pretty rough by the time I was Allowed to get my hands behind the wheel.
This has been a difficult 10 year restoration that has only a few more months left. Can't wait to get it back on the road. I told my wife if it's not on the road by the end of summer, it goes up for sale. Had to give myself a little incentive:).
All the work has been done in my home shop, including body and paint. No one else has done any work on this car, other than low end of engine.
Check out the custom dash cluster I made for it, turned out pretty nice!
Well, 4 back surgeries, one heart attack with a 5 way bypass, it's almost ready to drive and then, tore my rotator cuff in both shoulders. Full tear in the right and partial on the left. Going in for surgery on the right shoulder next month.
Again, project goes on hold.
10-24-20, Unfortunately, not going to be on the road this year. Surgery on my shoulder next month and most likely 8 of recovery and PT.
I was soooo close to getting it done this year :( Hate to disappoint anyone but, not putting it up for sale just yet:).
One more year, what the heck, it's been 10 already:thumbsup:

Went to put in carpet today, total disaster! All my fault though, I bought the carpet at least 6 years ago from Classic Industries, OER is the carpet brand, but never opened the box. Total junk, looks like someone ripped it off the end of a carpet roll, no finished edges, not squared at all. No way it's fitting, guess I'll wrap the cat tree with it:).
Ordered a new carpet kit from Stock Interiors, on hold another couple weeks. :praying: Lord give me patience otherwise, I'm gonna need bail money.

I have little patients also. But you have done so much to the car to make it right a little longer buddy. You will get it done for sure.

New carpet installed, perfect fit from Stock Interiors, console installed and drivers seat. Wanted to pull it out today for a quick run up and down the block. Did not make it out of the shop, front brakes locked up. Released the bleeders but, every time I push the brake pedal down they lock up. I did the 4 wheel disk conversion, used the proper booster and master for disk/disk, don't think the rod is adjustable, will have to look.
Any ideas??
Thanks all.

Back at it today. Exhaust system installed, sounds fantastic! Installed a Quick Silver shifter into new console, thank you Swampdonkey. I posted a few pics of the console, you can see the original 65 and the 64 that I eneded up using. I think the 64 goes really well with the black out theme on the car. Minimal modifications required on the exterior of the console but, quite a bit on the underside assembly.
Time to finish up the interior and take it for a ride!
easy part is to just do.

need some help finding another interior passenger side headliner/roof rail trim piece. This piece attaches to the back end of the roof rail and holds the package tray and bottom edge of headliner down. It literally broke in my hand when I picked it up.
It's a long shot but, hoping anyways.
Thanks!
Sorry that was the wrong set.

Huge day!! ALmost 15 years since this car has been driven. Not a long drive, around the block, but everything seems to be working. Still have most of the interior to put back in and a few things on the outside but, DAMN THIS FEELS GOOD!!

Way to go! I knew you could do it! Happy for you.

Well, got the braking issue worked out, finally! It only took 3 boosters and 3 different master cylinders in various combinations. What I ended up with, in case anyone else is going 4wdisk, is the original booster and the Ford style master from the SSBC kit, shortened the stock booster push rod by an inch and Viola! working brakes. Not rock hard or mush. Oh yeah, had to add a vacuum pump kit from leeds to keep it working.
Hood is back on, interior is ordered, 6 month wait for door panels and seat covers but, drivers seat is in. Really, that's all a person needs:). Took the front and rear door panels out of storage, thought they were safe, nope, chewed up:cursin:!
Anyways, just little things now. By the time the parts get here I should have everything else done. But, I can drive it if I want to and the sunshine cooperates.

Good for you! Yep, lots of little things to deal with after a complete redo. Just take your time and you'll get there.

Back seats are in, rear side windows installed after repairing the broken bolt on the regulator. It's finally a driver, and just in time for spring and summer! Those rear seats are the original material, just cleaned them up.
