1963 Polara headlight upgrade suggestions?

Need to upgrade the dim as hell factory headlights on my 63 Polara so I can safely go to some evening cruise ins. Any recommendations that won't require modification and will run off stock alternator?

Also, when idling my lights (all of them) pulse brighter and dimmer and the ammeter also jumps up and down. Any idea what causes this?

You could do a hid headlight conversion kit. As for the dimming lights. I would check all the grounds. Make sure your alternator is good.

@Crackedback sells a great kit that makes them bright with the origional bulbs.

If the alt is good

Pulsing usually the regulator. If it is still mechanical you can adjust it internally. It is in the FSM.

Pulsing lights could indicate that one of the diodes is shot in the alternator.
