I found a Sure Grip 8 3/4 diff out of a '64 Newport. I still need to find out what case it is, but I'm assuming 742.

I have the axles and housing out of a '72 Charger. Will I encounter any issues dropping the '64 chunk into the '72 Charger housing?

Thanks.

Does a '64 chunk have the smaller pinion shaft, as opposed to the later units?

It could be 1 3/8"or 1 3/4". I would think it would be the big one, being in a Newport, but check the casting number to be sure.

Ok, it's 2070742 - looks like it's the 1 3/4" then. Thank you.
