65 Coronet sedan with Dana 60 rear and springs moved inward. Car is not tubbed. Running 295/55/15 on 9.5 rims. 5.5 backspace. Rubs slightly but not an issue. Looking to put same size tires with 15 x 8 with 4.5 backspace. Does anyone know if these will fit without rubbing issues. If so does anybody know wheel dimensions in a 15 x 8 that will work with these tires. The wheel well lip sits approx half way on the sidewall

I prefer a tall fat tire look

A little more info is needed. Where do they rub now? Springs, fender, inner wheelhouse, or outer? How much are the springs moved, under the frame, or just offset hangers?
15x8 is the small end of the recommended width for that tire. 4 1/2 bs on a 15x8,15x8 1/2 wheel is usually considered ideal on b-bodys. If you go with more bs, say 4 3/4, it moves the wheel closer to the spring, then the wheel and tire location can be adjusted perfectly with wheel spacers.
I have a ten inch slick on a 16x8 wheel with 4 3/4 bs that is almost the same size as your 295s, that fits easily on a 62 savoy.

Thanks for your response. My springs are moved Inboard to the rails, not with offset hangers. The tires rub on the inner wheelhouse, and the right side will rub on the outer wheelhouse on occasion but very little. It only happens when I make a left going up a hill returning home. However, my issue is the BFGoodrich comp radial drag tires don’t hook, they have a 12.25 section width. I would like to put Hoosier quick time pros 29x11.50-15. Hoosier lists the section width at 12.8 on a 8.5” rim, Summit has them listed as a 11.90. Planning on calling Hoosier tomorrow to determine if the 11.90 measurement would be on 8” rims. If so, they would work on a 8” rim with a 4.75 bs. Today I tried the BFGoodrich on a 15x8 Steel wheel with a 4.50 bs. They fit but there was not enough clearance on the outer wheelhouse at the quarter panel. So I know the 4.75 would fit. However, my dilemma is I wanted to use Cragars with a 4.75 bs. However I think that will make the wheel appear too flat. They don’t come in that size but Coy wheel can make them for me.
You mentioned your wheel and tire application. Are those steel wheels? And what exact size are your tires? If I could use your combo would be great. Keep in mind my car is not tubbed.

I 've got 10.00-28x16 hoosier slicks on a 16x8 torque thrust II, with 4.75 b's that fits well, stock spring location and tubs. I've also got 10.5x28x15 mickey thompson slicks on 15x8 1/2 centerline autodrags on 4 7/8 bs, but those need .300 spacers, and they are tight everywhere.

Love those ‘62 b bodies! That’s a bucket list thing for me! Found a Cragar knockoff made by US wheels 15x8 with the 4.75 bs. Plan on ordering those. If they don’t look too flat I.e. modern car wheel and they accept the Cragar center cap I am good to go! If not I will have custom Steelies made. Calling Hoosier later today. I will let you know how I make out, thanks again!

Thanks for your input Two Cents! Greatly appreciated. I also have a 64 Plymouth Belvedere with 28” Hoosiers on 15 x 8 Americans a with a 4.50” bs. I am running Cal tracks so the car sits low. The 28’s fit the wheel well perfectly and they look great! However, the Coronet has a rake due to super stock springs and spacers. I tried the 28’s as mentioned and they are lost in the wheel well. Just today I figured out I can run 29x10.50 -15 Hoosiers on 8’s with a 4.75 bs. They fill the wheel well really good and I like the look. It’s a slight rake so they sit nice. I will post on this thread.

Two Cents! Just took a pic to show you how the car looks now with 295x65 15 BFGoodrich drag radials mounted on 9” Weld Dragstars. The BFG’s don’t hook well and rub on the inner wheelhouse. The 29 Hoosiers will fit on the 8’s with the 4.75 bs. Hoosiers will hook better and I prefer the Cragar look. It may be awhile before I get them I will post when done.
Ps. I am sure you agree the 65 coronet body style is the prettiest one they ever made
