Congrats to your daughter and I hope, you :) ... we'll miss your regular updates but will be looking forward to them when you can get back to it. Be safe overseas

Thanx from the airport in Istanbul. I'll try to stay safe. Got a few hours to kill heard they have a very nice lounge here. Gotta see if I can track it down.

Yes sir jlukas, that is exactly what I wanted to hear! I don't know what the other piece would have been cut from but it sits at least an inch lower. In any case it's good to know mine is correct. Thank you very much.

Happy to help, hope you have a safe trip and don't work too hard, I'll be grinding away on body work on my 66 and will miss seeing your work as it helped me out quite a bit on my rear patch panel and trunk extensions! At some point I might even start a restoration thread.

Pardon my lack of manners. Good luck with the job and congrats to your daughter.

seems pretty selfish to me. what are those of us in the frozen wasteland without garage heat supposed to do while you're off on your adventure?:icon_mrgreen:

Good morning /Good evening from Kurdistan. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined what this landscape or weather were actually like. It is not summer yet so everything is still green and the hills / valleys are beautiful. But the part that shocked me the most is the weather. It's actually gets cold at night. Not by Canadian standards, but you can see your breath in the air. I always thought of this area as desert all the time. Anyway.......man I miss working on my car. I check in here and it is a small fix but more of a tease!! Anyway I just thought I would throw a quick hello out to all my B-Body brothers. Happy Moparing.

THANKS for putting my head back in perspective! I've been frustrated between the weather being tooo cold and work being so busy I have no willpower to go to the garage after work.:angryfire:

Thank you for your servie:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Oops. I am sorry Hemi-itis. I have mislead you and possibly others by mistake. I am actually over here drilling a well. I am a drilling supervisor and am doing my first hitch overseas. I apologize for any confusion and being here myself have a new appreciation for the troops that spend a great deal of time away from their families and loved ones. Cheers everyone.
But if your head is back in perspective you are welcome for that!

Thanks for drilling for more of the black gold to keep our babies running .. hope you'll be back home and in the garage sooner than later brother. Be safe over there

well, you're doing a heck of a job with this coronet, keep on keeping on

Keep safe and get back soon! Hard to lurk without everyone here :)

Well I survived my first hitch in Kurdistan. Im back in Toronto. Over all it was great. Things don't get done quite as quick as here at home. But I think I'm going to enjoy working there. I do have to say frozen ground never looked so good! Just a few more hours and I'll be home. :hello2:

thats an awesome find....i think i might have some parts too....

Well, the days are gettin' shorter and the nights longer. That means the shop time is increasing due to summers end. I have missed working on the car. But, I got back into it yesterday and today. I figured I should make it a roller again. To start I sprayed some undercoat into the wheel wells so the diff could be put back in. Then I assembled the diff and sanded and painted the springs. I found out I did not have the end play adjuster lock washer so I built my own. I'm pretty happy with my brake lines I built. This is the first time I've assembled an 8 3/4 differential. It was much easier than I had anticipated. I think tomorrow Ill put it all back in the car and get it down off the jack stands.
I may not get as much done this winter as I would like to. This is because my son now has a 68 Barracuda to build. I figure if he is into it, I'll help him out and get another car guy addicted to the hobby.
In any case, it was really nice to get back working on the Coronet! I swear the build is the best part of the whole car thing. Seeing things come together is a great feeling.

Glad to see your back! Didn't know if you've seen the original locks or not but thought I'd mention that they are more hook like, the one you made looks like it could possibly rotate letting it loosen? Just thought I'd mention it because I'd hate to see anything happen to that beauty.
