1967 Hemi GTX restoration

I have decided to start a thread documenting this restoration. I haven’t got too far but I will start from the beginning.

Here is the car when I brought it home. No engine or transmission- hadn’t been on the road since 1980

The car had all it’s original interior and even exhaust on it. Found that second build sheet under the carpet.

So - I also bought a parts car with it - big block Satellite.

Started to take a few things off the parts car- hood, fender and door because they had no pitting

So I started my parts haul. Bought a lot from an east coaster who restored a GTX the year prior

Then came the engine.
It’s a 69 warranty block. The story was it was in a 70 Hemi GTX back in the day.
Still dressed in 1970 stuff

Very cool will be watching, I will be do a 67 gtx also this fall but not a hemi unfortunately best wishes!

Next was to change things over to 1967
Swapped the intake, valve covers , breather and lastly the carbs.
Also picked up an NOS manifold and one repo
Picked up the correct breather, pcv, date coded plug wires, correct dip stick, wire brackets, coil etc

I ordered some hand made quarters from Joe Phillips - so nice
