My '68 R/T finally came back home after a four year restoration. It has a stroked 512 with Indy heads and TTI full exhaust, Wilwood disk brakes, Gear Vendors overdrive, Borgeson power steering box and QA1 suspension and carbon drive shaft. I bought it just before my ex wife filed for divorce four years ago. I sent it out to a restoration shop and then covid hit to halt the work for a year or two. Out with the old bag and in with a new Coronet. These are the pictures form the shop. Would a 1968 R/T have a wood grain steering wheel with the sweep gauges? My 1969 Super Bee has the wood grain steering wheel with a Rallye dash while my 1969 Coronet R/T has a black wheel with a horn arounf the bottom half of the steering wheel and a sweep dash.

Wow that’s SHARP! It looks like you have black ghost stripes in the paint. Interesting.

Awesome car you have there.
As far as I know the r/t were std with the sweep style gauges. Superbee std was rallye gauges. In 69 it shows rallye gauges a extra cost option in r/t but I do not know if it was a option in a 68 r /t. Steering wheels I think you could pretty much order any of them at extra cost:

Keeping the RT was a better deal than keeping the ex, good move! That Coronet is beautiful! 440'

Great looking 68 R/T. Wood grain steering wheel is an optional addition with any dash.

Thanks Jerry. It looks odd since my Super Bee has the rallye with the wood grain steering wheel. I may be changing it out for the regular steering wheel with the horn ring.

Good Lord that looks nice! Can't beat an undercarriage you can eat off of

My signature car is '68 R/T 4 speed that had the rally dash which looked to be original:

It took a lot of time, work and money to get it looking good again.

My 68 Coronet RT had the Charger Rally dash. bought it new in 1968. Wish I had been smart enough to have kept it
