1968 SuperBee Fresh Air Mod

Hi All. I have a 68 Bee. I want to allow fresh air into the engine. I am looking to cut the blacked out parts on the Hockey Stick hood ornaments and some of the hood material under the hockey stick. I am looking to use the center section of the N96 setup in order to get a seal to the oval air cleaner. Any thoughts on this? I'm worried the slits on the hockey sticks will not allow enough air. Will the N96 center section bolt onto a Power Bulge Hood?

That bulge hood is worth $1,000+ in any kind of decent shape. Give it another thought or two or three before cutting, especially since that little bit of fresh air is unlikely to affect performance even the slightest.

No way cut up an original bulge Hood.....not reproduced!!!!....….buy a replacement fiberglass hood if you want to cut something up!!!

A standard flat hood from a 4 door would be a better start and easier to find

Yeah....don't cut that hood. I like the flat hood and/or fiberglass to cut & modify. You're idea of using a N96 base is a good one. If you're making your own fresh air, you could really just do like the old NASCAR guys I've seen.... just use a cheap round aftermarket air cleaner that fits well & pop rivet an "aluminum skirt" onto the base of the air cleaner. Then add some foam to the skirt so that the hood seals against it (or something similar).

If it were me (which it isn't)....I'd look into a fiberglass hood, maybe with a 69 six pack style scoop already molded in
