1969 Road Runner preservation

Could you post a pic of that setup? I don't think I've ever seen one.
If you’re talking about my swivel hook, it’s just a Crosby brand swivel rigging hook that I installed at the end of my cherry picker arm in place of the typical chain with hook. I then bolt a chain to the engine front to back diagonally across the intake and keep it tight to the intake, just room enough to get the hook around it. The hook is only about 6-8” long so it keeps the oil pan to cherry picker arm short enough to get an engine in damn near anything without removing the hood. Plus the swivel makes it easy to position the engine without influence from a fixed chain. It works really well

Was that with a standard hood or a hood with an air grabber? Air grabber hangs down over 4 1/2 inches.
Thanks
Pat

Yes, standard hood. Never was high falootin’ enough for air grabbers or scoops of any sort. Given the giant oval recess for the air filter assy, it might be ok there too, just dunno. It certainly is handy not having to monkey with the hood though.

Looking for a picture of the correct location and orientation of this transmission cooling line bracket that bolts to the driver side transmission.
Thanks
Pat

This was on my 66 Hemi.

Instead of ordering the BCM battery and waiting for a year and a half I decided to go the less expensive route. I picked up a Diehard battery and Weskcar cap and label kit. I think it looks pretty good for the money!

That's much nicer than their old offering of decals. Now it actually looks like a script battery !! Cut the carry handle end bosses off each end, polish up and damn near spot on to a real one as shown below.

I saved all the stickers and put the date stickers on the bottom and lower backside, and as soon as I feel comfortable that there’s no warranty issue with this battery, I will cut off the side handle mounts;-)
Thanks

Yeah, the new decals look great! I’ll have to order up some more.

So the $64K question. Will we see it this year at Carlisle in July? Tent registration?

Yes! I got an official invite to the survivor tent display. I will be drive the car from Annapolis to Carlisle. The car has 390 gears so I plan on driving up through Amish country at 55 mph and under.
Looking forward to collecting that $64k in Carlisle;-)
Thanks
Pat

RC has the cash.

The worst part of this whole car was actually the underside of the hood. Lots of surface rust probably from condensation. The air grabber cleans up relatively easy with spray nine and a small brush. For the rusty metal I brushed on a product called On & off used to clean the waterline on boat. It’s a mild muriatic acid and it remove the rust from the surface without damaging the paint. Then I followed up using a color match green wax. Left right before and after;-)
Thanks
Pat

Looks good! I've used that product before on the underside of my boat and the fumes it gives off are not good to breathe.

Yes, it gets very toxic when mixed with water, not so bad by itself. I would brush on Small sections. Leave it on for about 30 or 40 seconds and then wipe it off.
Thanks
Pat

Just a few more bits and pieces to bolt on, but I thought I would put the air cleaner on as I don’t believe it’s been on for over 40 years.
Thanks
Pat
