I'm trying to figure out if this pitman arm is original to the 70 Super Bee 440 Six Pack we took it off of. If I read the drawings correctly the part number should be 2835835. Using that part number in google and ebay I can' find anything like it. When you look for a replacement pitman arm, they look different. Most have a more prominent curve to them than this one does. What do you guys think? Is this an original pitman arm? Any suggestions for a suitable replacement? Thank you

I'm pretty sure the Super Bee had power steering, but to be honest it's not clear when I look at all of the codes on the fender tag. I see another member selling a NOS pitman arm for a manual steering and it looks almost identical to this one. So I guess the first thing to figure out is whether or not the Super Bee came with manual or power steering.

From my research the A04 code included power steering and S77 code was power steering. This Super Bee didn't have either option that I can tell. Did something else push the power steering option? I think its weird that a Sales Bank car wouldn't have power steering...

Power and manual steering would take the same pitman arm. The shape of the arm can be different on aftermarket arms, but still fit and work perfectly.

The application was / is 1962 - 1970 " B " (all models)
--- ALL --- ( Manual & Power Steering )

The old TRW number was 18595...
The old MOOG number was K780....
They are both long obsolete....

Various brands had different bends to them --- but they all wind up in the right place --- and have the same function....

I have the best price on the U.S.A. Made reproduction Pitman Arm..... P.M. Me, as per forum rules, if interested.....

Craig.....

Thank you. It's weird that the 1970 parts catalog shows 3004811 as the part number, but the drawing shows 2835835. Makes it all very confusing.

Assembly line parts can sometimes have different part numbers than over the counter parts, for the same application. Pitman arms from 62 to 72 are more or less the same, except the long fast ratio ones. They went to large spline power steering boxes on A,B,E bodies in 73, so power and manual arms were different. I have a 73 A body manual arm on my 67 coronet, and it fits perfectly. Pre 73 A body arms are totally different from B body arms.

Not having a forging number would lead me to believe it was not attached at factory. (note - I believe these are forged, not cast...but certainly could be wrong)

**Edit to delete my "summary" as it was crap - there are Idler and Pitman numbers intermixing here and I didn't notice. I will try to look again when I get a chance**
