I’ll try and wheel this post back to reality.
Step 1). Strip car down and have it dipped at the place suggested earlier in this post..
Step 2). Get it home and cry that I left half my car in the guts tank
Step 3). Assess major damage and plan for what dipping on brought to light.
Step 4). Get everything in epoxy and start building back
Step 5). US CarTool
Mopar
All stiffing pieces install
Step 6). MAYBE QA1 Rear suspension (need more research)
Step 7). I think just beef up the front suspension/ disc brake upgrade.
I have QA1 set up on a car now and.. it doesn’t blow me away if I notice much at all. Maybe if I was auto crossing but just driving around it doesn’t feel much different.
Like I said way back before I had NZ’s suggesting Cosworth out of a Vega or LS9 in it I said I have gotten swept up in the modern is better and a must have upgrade.. technology is awesome (and it is) but this car I feel is going to be much better with old school punch. I have a 1973 F250 that is 100% stock except the interior is a little cleaned up. 3 on the Tree and I love driving it.. LOVE IT.. I pull up to a light and the light turns green and everyone speeds away (at least once a day someone will honk cause I didn’t slingshot off the line).. only to slowly (brakes are a bit… weak) pull up to the next light and settle back to my spot earlier next to the same cars. I feel like it’s a Time Machine.
That’s as far as I’m planing right now..
Side note: I’ve posted a couple questions in specific sections and I don’t get much reply.. should I just ask questions here?
Where do you find a reference on fasteners? Like my car is missing a bunch for nuts/boots/screws. I can match up some if say there is others near by but my headlight buckets are in the car and no bolts to be had.. how do I know what will look period correct. And just good enough that nothing stands out. Any help??
Thanks
