I may be taking possession of the original 383 that came in my friends 1971 Satellite. It was taken to a shop and they rebuilt the bottom end but never installed a camshaft. Its 30 over and it seems like the pistons are down in the hole a bit. I have no need for the engine just kind of wondering what its worth. Its missing a few things which is part of the reason its here.
What it needs. Besides finishing lol. It does need to be checked out to make sure the bottom end is setup correctly. The engine was at a shop and they had it for 2 years. The Previous owner got sick of waiting on the engine to be built and went and picked it up. But in the 2 years they had it a few things were " misplaced" like the heads and cam and lifter set as well as valve covers, rocker assemblies all gone. So pretty much its a machined block with pistons, rods and crank installed. Lots of stuff missing but I have some stuff in my stash of parts to help with some of the assembly.
Needs
Set of heads they lost his.
Oil pan and pickup gone.
Cam and lifters I have a partial set of brand new lifters that they sent with the engine. I think 4 lifters are missing They are new in the boxes, no camshaft.
Timing set is missing
No valve covers
What I have
I do have a brand new Edelbrock Performer intake for it. Still wrapped in plastic.
I have a distributor for it. out of my stash.
Almost a full set of new push rods..
I have a brand new Melling oil pump in the box
I do have a brand new oil pan and a valley pan but do not have the correct pick up tube for the oil pan.
I also have a brand new ARP engine bolt kit for it.

Hopefully someone needs a date correct engine..
