Is there any possibility that Plymouth placed tenders for the head, to be a specific size and shape but didn't care what the construction material was? Maybe there was more than one vendor, the same way they used different power steering pumps and the like on these cars.

Some people can get away with anything on here if you know the right people. Actually I sold a metal bird head with the part number and pentastar on it just that needed the purple paint touched up on eBay a few years ago. There are plenty of Mopar unknowns out there that these clowns on here will swear they and only they are sure of how many there were or what colors they came in. Like I said, try not to let the Mopar gods get you down. If the mods treated everyone the same on here 3 of the posters about your question would be on probation right now for breaking the rules.

I sold a metal one on eBay exactly like that , but it was metal and the paint was a lot better. Just needed the purple touched up. I can't find the pictures though. Must have deleted them after the sale.
