WHEN TO CHANGE OIL FILTER

All Chrysler Corporation engines are equipped with new "shorty" type, full-flow throw-away oil filters that are smaller in size and capacity than the replacement type. This "shorty" type of filter is not recommended for use as a filter replacement in service. Only "full" size, full-flow throwaway replacement filters should be used.

Maybe the "shorty" is just for the break in oil? Replaced with full size upon first oil change.....just a shot in the dark.
