I recently purchased a 74 Charger Coupe with a 71 440 4bl, 4 spd. Looking to begin work on engine and body needs this winter. Can't figure out what service, parts, or repair manuals I should buy. And from what source should I buy the manuals. I'm very much not a wrencher, but my heart and soul are in it. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I bought my service manual for my 74 Dart here...

I reckon the 74 manual should cover the motor too. but im not 100% sure...gents with more experience than I are sure to chime in.

btw, hit up the 'welcome wagon' section and introduce yourself...:headbang: and post a few pics of the olde charger if ya have any. we love car **** here lol

My 74 Plymouth Manual Cover all motors from the 225 Slant 6 all the way up to the 440. I would get the 74 Manual just because it has some other details specific to your car!

Northern Runner, where did you get your manual? I've been told that I don't need to spend 100's of dollars for actual bound manuals -- but that I can just find and "download" them online. Any suggestions for saving some money?

Yeah, I've searched and found MANY places to find the print and CD manuals, and I agree, would like to have a hard copy in my hand. Had a guy tell me that there were places where you could view the manuals online, and simply print off pages you want/need. Sounded to good to be true.

I got mine as an X-mas gift, though it came from either E-bay or Amazon. For a 73/74 car manuals shouldn't be too expensive because the demand is for the early B-bodies! I do believe my father picked up the chassis and body manuals for around $35. And I agree with MarPar, if you don't mind doing a lot of printing you could get a CD with the manual on it.
