That one is on the list. Sad to think it might be parted or salvaged.

Looking to sell my 1979 Chrysler 300. Looking for advice from some experts on a starting point for its price. All original car. Runs well, title in my name. Little rust around the rear wheel wells and back lip of the trunk trunk lid. Have replaced the gas tank, sending unit, fuel pump, fuel filter. Added an edelbrock carb. Have the original holley. Have the original wheels. Interior is in good shape. No rips in the seats or carpet. 360 motor, power windows, and power sunroof. Going to sell with the factory wheels. Replaced the upper and lower bearings in the tilt column. I was thinking the 5500 range for the car. Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

Original Holley? Where's the Thermoquad?

I stand corrected. I have the replacement Holley carb that was on the car when I purchased it.

IMO, the sunroof option offsets the negative of rust around the wheel wells.

How many miles does the car have on it?

Do you have the Broadcast Sheet? It will typically be under the rear seat; between the springs and foam.

An interior in good shape is somewhat unusual.

Does it have power door locks and power trunk deck lid release?

What other options does it have? Front cornering lights? Do you have the fender tag?

You can get reproduction 300 taillight emblems from an eBay seller. They are not expensive. The car will more complete and presentable with them.

I don't see the high capacity alternator under the hood. Therefore, your car doesn't have a rear window defroster.

Is the air conditioning in working order?

I don't see your heater hoses.

What condition is the exhaust system?

Yeah, what's with trunk lids on '79 300's? They look like mine or yours or worse except for the handful of garage queens out there.

The '79 Chrysler 300, no matter the condition and price, stay on the market a long time.

You will find more interested parties on For C Bodies Only, than here on For B Bodies Only.

I think you're in the ballpark with your price since it is a sunroof car and the couple of pictures you posted looks like the car is ok.

Thanks delta for all your information.
Car has a little above 121,000 miles on it. The interior looks untouched, so I would strongly believe the build sheet is in the car.

It has power windows and power sunroof that all work. The sunroof to my surprise has a water tight seal.

The tail light 300 emblems are in the glove box.

AC is not working and the exhaust is in great shape.

It has 2 fender tags that leads me to believe it is a highly optioned car.

I have the original steering wheel. Just put this one on after I fixed the broken bearings.

As for pricing to give you an example here is Don Petty's 300. An Arizona car with no rust, low miles and pretty much needs nothing except for painting the louvers white. He's asking $8000 and has had it for sale for awhile. 1979 300 Coupe for sale

Holy smokes! That's a really low number. Built in November 1978 (1979 model year).

I see the larger capacity alternator under the hood. This car probably has a rear window defroster.

VIN: SS22L9R158039

DOM 11-78
MDH 112913

Factory floor mats, power windows, and tilt wheel.

Fender tag is difficult to read.

$4,500 obo is probably in the right ballpark for VIN: SS22L9R158039

I agree but he's accepting offers so you might be able to get it for less. If it was in SoCal I might be interested.
One '79 300 is my limit.
:)
