1987 New Yorker Turbo, worth anything?

She nows owns a beat up pt cruiser, I consider this a upgrade

Getting her a 32 year old car to replace one that's 15 years (or so) newer is an upgrade? What a guy! Who do you think you are, Al Bundy?

not worth much

not here anyway

if you like it, that's all that matters

My mom had one - dark blue with a lighter blue velvet like interior ,
She bought it when my dad was away on a business trip .
Traded her 1973 fury in .
Embarrassing as I thought it was a dressed up K car back but then she loved it .

Heater core blown, found out when I filled it up and started to pour out the AC drain

looks like the whole dash has to come out in this, and that would be a deal-breaker I really don't feel like doing that on this thing, so I did an experiment I've always wanted to try.

I disconnected the heater core, poured a little bit alumaseal in the hose, and hooked up a recirculation pump and pumped about 2 gallons of water mixed with alumaseal just through the heater core for about an hour. The leak stopped almost immediately, then I hooked up the coolant hoses and started the engine been running for two hours so far no leaks on the heater core! And I have heat! I'm hoping that holds...

I had an 82 charger 2.2 and man that thing was a piece of ****. on the flip side I have a buddy that builds the **** out of those 2.2's with and without turbos , sticks them in omni's , and they are freaking fast

I haven't driven it past the driveway yet, but it was completely rebuilt by the previous owner. I'm looking for hopefully some reliability

I’ve got a 93 Shadow with a 2.5. Stills runs great and is the newest car I’ve ever owned.

Good thing you found a use for that car, EXPERIMENTATION, try to prove all the car theorys out there and see if they work or not, like an egg in a leaking radiator.

Those 2.2 turbos outperformed the 318 Furys & Dips of that era! You could get that engine in a Carrotvan!!

My Dad went from a super clean 68 Chrysler Newport to a pos Volvo. Till it crapped out to a Kcar . He looked after it and it treated him well. I wouldnt touch one. To much of a square box for me.

We used to have ice racing here at Stockade Lake. Ice racing is a way to have fun in the winter and hone your skills at maintaining speed in corners. A useful skill for autocrossing.

A friend pulled the motor from a VW Rabbit and stuck it in the back of another Rabbit. One throttle, one clutch pedal, one shifter, and two start buttons. Start the motor, then start the other motor. Bolted G60 tires. Damnedest thing you ever drove, and very fast on ice, but it was spooky on pavement.

The ice racing was started by a newly formed local sports car club just after the War, but we haven't had ice racing in about 10-12 years. The lake, high in the Hills at about 7,000 feet, no longer freezes thick enough for us to get insurance.

Anyone know what sensor this is? Got it running, and once it warmed up, coolant shot out

I was TOlD it's a 88/89 MPFI 2.2/2.5.

I know the coolant temperature for the computer is in the thermostat housing, and the one for the gauge is in the head I have no idea what this one is can't seem to find a wiring diagram on it either. It has one gray wire and one gray wire with a yellow stripe. Maybe some type of fan control for the coolant?
