2 post car lift recommendations

Can anybody recommend a safe and decent 2 post car lift? The have heard bad things about the imported ones and don't know what to look for. Any comments on your experience would be helpful. I am also limited to a 10' ceiling and a 13' wide garage bay.

I bought a 9 foot high. 2 post from Best Buy Automotive Equipment. Very happy with it and it didnt break the bank..

Check out Bend Pak. Whatever you buy, make sure it has all the certifications.

You might be able to score a used one from a shop that closed or upgraded. Stop by a shop and see who does their service work.

I bought a Challenger lift from an installer that had removed it from a Midas shop. The installer was also the service company and certified it each year, so it is certified and has been maintained rather than one from a Joe Schmo. A lot of the 7K and 8K lifts are being taken out of professional shops as new pickup trucks max out the weight ratings. If you can get the name of the company that installs and removes them, you can probably get the ins and outs of each one, and possibly a lead on a good used one.

I work at a garage and did just as you guys say, when I got my hoist for home I contacted the guys who service ours and they had some good used ones that were upgraded from dealership updates. Paid $2000 for a 4 year old Rotary asymmetrical. Had it over 4 years now and works great!
