2013 4th Annual FABO NASCAR "Pick 'Em" Game - Time To Go Racing Again!!!

Ok FBBO NASCAR fans, the NASCAR "Pick 'Em" game is back for 2013 over on FABO and y'all are invited to join in.......

We're going with the same rules as last year, plus one addition, and they again will stay the same all year including bonus points.

1- Pick 2 Drivers each race!{place divided by 2}
ex. 3rd and 9th place =12/2=6----your score for race

2- Bonus pick winning driver.{-5}
ex. your score {6} -5 = 1 score with bonus

3- Bonus pick 2nd place driver.{-3}
ex. your score {6} -3 = 3 score with bonus

4- Picks must be in by drop of green flag.
ex. the sticks with green material waving in air, if no pick avg is 43

5- No picks for 3 straight races and will be sent to pits for the remainder of the season.
ex. out of Competition - lost your team sponsor

6 (new option)- You may make your picks permanent for the entire season so you don't run the risk of getting the dreaded 43-point race result by forgetting to post your weekly picks. Just let me know in your initial pick post that you want your picks to be permanent for the year. Of course, you can always make a change to your permanent picks if one, or both, of your drivers gets sick, injured or loses his ride.


Let me know who is in so I can get your names on my Excel spreadsheet. It's gonna be another great year!!!

Please make your picks by driver name or car number and driver name. Driver name will always take precedence over car number.
If you make your pick by car number only you're going to be locked in to that car number no matter who the driver is; and if you pick a car number not in that weeks race, you'll end up with '43' (last place) as your score for that car.

Here we go!
The Daytona 500 is Feb. 24th, but just like last year we're going to get started earlier with the Sprint Unlimited on Saturday, Feb. 16th.
Just like last year, everyone participating in the Unlimited will get a -2 bonus. And also like last year, Pick 3 drivers and tell me the order they will finish in the Unlimited. Pick the trifecta correctly and you'll get an additional -5 bonus. It doesn't matter if they finish 1st-2nd-3rd, or 5th-8th-last, just as long as you pick the correct order of finish for your 3 drivers.

:iamwithstupid:Interesting hmmmmmmm, I might play that NASCAR pick em' game too, OCDART you will have your hands full, with both the NHRA & NASCAR race scheduals... too bad no Corporate Sponsored Mopars in this years... I'll be routing for "Bad" Brad & Tony "Smoke" both this year, is it pick only 3 drivers for the Sprint Unlimited ?? but just 2 for all the regular Nascar races... are all the races at Daytona like the 250's/125's & the 500 all separate races with different picks ??... or the Al-star Charlotte Races the same type deal with multiple events/drivers ?? or are you locked into just 2 drivers for all events that week ??

Hey Budnicks, sorry for the delay in my reply. Haven't been over here to FBBO for awhile.
The NASCAR "Pick 'Em" game is different from the NHRA game in that in the NASCAR game the low score at the end of the season wins. The Sprint Unlimited race is a bonus event to kind of get your feet wet at the beginning of the season. Everyone who plays the Sprint Unlimited race will get a -2 point bonus to start the season. Pick 23 drivers for this race in the correct finishing order and pick up an additional -5 point bonus.
The regular season races will be for 2 drivers and your weekly points will be determined by their race finish position. If your driver picks finish 1st and 2nd for the race you'll have an average finish of 1.5 and that will be your points for the week along with a -5 point bonus for picking the winning driver and a -3 point bonus for picking the 2nd place driver = total of -6.5 points for the week. If your drivers finish 3rd and 20th for the race, you'll have a weekly point total of 11.5 points.
If you forget to make driver picks for any week during the regular season and you'll get credited with last place finishes for both drivers and an average of 43 points for that week. That's why I'm offering to let players "lock in" their 2 drivers for the entire season.
There will be other bonus events during the season but the rules will always be spelled out before the race.

Budnicks, Keselowski isn't eligible to run the Sprint Unlimited. It's only for 2012 Pole Winners and past event winners. I didn't see his name listed for the event on www.nascar.com.

I know the calendar says today is St. Patrick's Day but I swear watching the race at Bristol made me think today was Halloween! Sure were a lot of spectators dressed up looking like empty seats. I can't remember the last time I saw so many at Bristol.
Big time congrats to 71dartswinger, 73 Root Beer and 340duster for hitting the NASCAR exacta today with their race winner and runner-up picks of #5 Kasey Kahne and #18 Kyle Busch combo and the combined -8 bonus points. They all share the best NASCAR picker award with each of them having a -6.5 weekly point total.
Congrats also to daredevil and BigRichieO for picking the race winner and the -5 bonus points. And also to DFootCuda, memike, ocdart, cuda20, Dart_Doctor, moparfan68 and SlimPikens for picking the race runner-up and the -3 bonus points.

I've been to MATS a few times but the last time was like 2005 "I think it was", I'm not a big Las Vegas, gambling or casino guy, but love the track, love the casino buffets... It's great to see all them MoPar's in one place & drag racing too... especially some of the old S/S racers/cars, I loved the old 8-9-10 second, wheelstanding super stockers & stockers... Warlords 68 Hemi Cuda's team, among many others... Especially all the nostalgia drag cars/ FC's or FE-Dragster, along with some of the newer modern stuff too, great time of year to be in Vegas, it's not too damn hot....
