At the start of Q3: air temperature 80 degrees, relative humidity 22 percent, barometer 27.85 inches, adjusted altitude 4,203 feet, track temperature 103 degrees.
All I've got for Q3 is Top Fuel and Funny Car as NHRA.com shows the first round of the Pro Stock K&N Challenge results rather than the full Q3 for Pro Stock.
Interesting Top Fuel news though - J.R. Todd was flown in overnight to fill in for David Grubnic for the rest of the weekend. J.R. immediately took the car to the #12 spot during Q3. NHRA.com didn't give any additional information. No clue if Grubby may not be feeling well or what. Maybe we'll find out more on the TV qualifying coverage later today.

Q3
TF: Steve Torrence, 3.779 @ 324.28
FC: Matt Hagan, 4.043 @ 318.17

At the start of Q4: air temperature 78 degrees, relative humidity 20 percent, barometer 27.74 inches, adjusted altitude 4,186 feet, track temperature 96 degrees.
According to the TV qualifying coverage, Connie Kalitta made a "temporary" change in drivers. We'll see, since Connie later came out with a statement that the future of the Top Fuel team will be decided at a later date. Stay tuned...you may be seeing more of J.R. Todd, who is currently under contract with Bob Vandergriff.

Q4
TF: Antron Brown, 3.768 @ 325.14
FC: Courtney Force, 4.006 @ 325.37 (new Funny Car speed record if she can back it up at this event)
PS: Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Chris McGaha, 6.625; Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Shane Gray, 209.17

Congrats to Hemiroid (FABO) for being the Top Qualifier at the SummitRacing.com Nationals with a very nice total of 23.0 bonus points. He picked the #1 qualifier in Pro Stock and the #2 qualifier in both Top Fuel and Funny Car.
71dartswinger (FABO) and YoungGun74 (FABO) were both right behind with 22.0 bonus points. alsant and bobtile were the top FBBO pickers with 21.0 bonus points each. Way to go all!

This week players picked:
* 6 different Top Fuel drivers. There is one Round 1 head-to-head matchup with teammates Shawn Langdon and Khalid alBalooshi. There could also be one head-to-head matchup in the 2nd round of eliminations.
* 7 different Funny Car drivers and one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between Del Worsham and Tommy Johnson Jr.. There are also 2 potential head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 8 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of 3 head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.

Good luck all!

I hope no one picked Grubnic. If so, does their pick shift to J.R. Todd?

Great job guys! (alsant and bobtile)
Finals don't come on until 10:00 p.m. here, don't know if I'll be able to stay awake until 12:30 to see the end!

Thanks guys,
Yeah the finals came on at 11 here. Didn't even see the first run. I'm tired of the espn coverage or lack thereof the sport. Let someone that wants to cover it take it over.

Espn sucks ! Didn't they sign a new contract with espn last year?

Lots of changes in the standings following the SummitRacing.com Nationals in Las Vegas due to a lot of early round upsets and big names going home early.

Congratulations to 'Duster79' (FABO) for being "Top Picker Eliminator" for the SummitRacing.com Nationals with a very nice point total of 107.5 points with a class win in Top Fuel, a semi-final win in Pro Stock and his Funny Car pick went two rounds of eliminations. 'YoungGun74' (FABO) came in as the event runner-up with another nice point total of 97.0 with a class win in Pro Stock, a two-round winner in Top Fuel plus the bonus points for top speed of the class, and his Funny Car pick got past the first round of eliminations.
'64BEL' was the top FBBO player with 63.0 points for this event.

NOTES:
1. 'littlemoparn1' (FABO) did not post any picks for the third event in a row so, per game rules, he has "lost his sponsor" and is parked for the remainder of the season including the Countdown. We are sorry to lose him and I hope he returns to play again for the 2015 NHRA season.
2. 'super-bee_ski' (FBBO) did not post any picks for this event so, per game rules, his picks from the prior event were carried over to this event but he was not eligible for any event bonus points.

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Antron Brown, 3.758 during Round 1 of eliminations
Speed - Steve Torrence, 326.63 during Round 1 of eliminations

Funny Car
E.T. - Courtney Force, 4.006 during qualifying
Speed - Courtney Force, 325.37 during Round 1 of eliminations and the fastest Funny Car pass in history. But it is not a new National Record since Courtney failed to back it up within the allowable limit at this event.

Pro Stock
E.T. - Chris McGaha, 6.610 while losing during Round 3 of eliminations
Speed - Jeg Coughlin Jr. and Shane Gray, 209.17 during qualifying

Here are the game point standings after the 4th event of the 2014 season:

The 5th race of the 2014 season, the 5th Annual NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, is April 11-13, at zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday,
April 11 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 1:15 PM EDT (10:15 AM PDT).
The Four-Wide Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 16 Top Fuel, 17 Funny Car, 17 Pro Stock and 25 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist05.aspx for an updated entry list.
Pro Stock Motorcycle will run at this event.

Get your picks posted and GOOD LUCK!

Notes:
1. I am leaving for the "Mopors At The Strip" event in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 10, and will not return home until Friday, April 18. I'm taking a few extra days to play 'tour director' and show my friends that are visiting from Australia some of our beautiful National Parks in Arizona and southern Utah. I will post both updated standings following the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals after I get back home.
2. There are special one-event rules for the scoring of the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. There will be a separate post so both our new game players and returning players can familiarize themselves with these one-event scoring rules before the event.

I hope no one picked Grubnic. If so, does their pick shift to J.R. Todd?

No, nobody picked Grubnic. But if they had, their pick would have been shifted to J.R. Todd. I couldn't give them a chance to switch to another driver in another higher-qualified car because the driver change was made during the middle of qualifying.

Double up win & Bonus for P/S Erica & F/C Alexis {chick fest :headbang: }, then T/F Schumacher {golden spoon fed a--hole, makes me want to puke} all win in Vegas for those who didn't watch, P/S couldn't even run until the high winds died down, they have no down-force to handle 40+ mph side/cross winds after going by the bleachers... they ran back to back to back T/F & F/C then finished off with all of pro-stock basically... All my picks went down early AJ & Langdon 1st round even Force, taken out early... sucky race

down 4 spots

good job 64BEL up 2 spots

Congrats Bel!
Yeah was a bad race for my picks, actually surprised I only lost one spot. Tried to stay awake but threw in the towel at midnight. Slept threw one round of eliminations.

Points change for 4-Wide Nationals event ONLY!!!
Same rules as the past several years:

This event only has 3 rounds of eliminations. Event scoring will be similar to the NHRA points scoring.

Qualifying position bonus points are the same as always

Each pro elimination round is run with 4 cars per race rather than 2, and 2 cars advance from each of the first 2 rounds of eliminations.

First round: Four races of four cars each. The 1st car of each race to cross the finish line will get 10 points, the 2nd car will get 5 points. Eight cars advance to the second round of eliminations.

Second round: Two races of four cars each. Same scoring as the first round. Four cars advance to the final round of eliminations.

Final round: One race of four cars. 1st Place finisher will get 10 points, 2nd Place will get 5 points, 3rd Place will get 3 points, 4th Place will get 1 point.

Same scoring for quickest e.t. and fastest speed for the event and for any national record set at this event.

Again, this scoring will be for this event only.

As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts at 1:15PM EDT (10:15AM PDT) on Friday, April 11. Don't forget to post your picks before Pro Qualifying starts - you don't want to miss out on all the bonus points.

4 wide race will also have P/SM bikes too...

ocdart have fun at the M.A.T.S. & with your Aussie buds, coming to the states, again thanks for all the posting, warnings & work you do with, both Pick Em' games...

Thanks, guys. What a crappy race to watch for me as far as the drivers I like go. My fav - Tim Wilkerson - redlights when Capps blows the tires off. I found that even the drivers I thought maybe I should have picked didn't do well, either. I think I'll let one of the squirrels in our yard make next race's picks, because I don't think I really know what the heck is going on this year.

Hey oc - am I transposed with super-bee ski? Not that it matters - just trying to keep order amongst us basement dwellers!

Haha - take heart, aslant. I figure if I could drop like a rock last year, anyone can climb to the top, too. There's plenty of season left!

I hear ya, nobody is giving me a good vibe. Really torn in the Prostock field, there are a lot of good car/drivers that I should really pic but I'm just too stubborn to pick a brand X to win. Sure wish Vincent was still in the Mopar camp.
