2015 5th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Are You Ready To Make Your Picks???

crap down -1 yet again seems like a trend

congrats to 64Bel & Gpuller

I saw that earlier today to on Dragzine newsletter
That sucks, RIP Dalton
22 is way too young to die,
Id imagine loosing his son is probably the worst thing in the world too...

my deepest heartfelt condolences goes out to the
Clay Millican family & friends...

Yeah, that was sad to hear. Clay is one of the nicest guys out there. Brings back memories of Doug Herbert losing his two boys in a street racing crash.

Tuesday-before-the-event reminder for the upcoming Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, MN!
Pro Qualifying starts at 4:00PM EDT (1:00PM PDT) Friday, August 21.
Your picks must be posted to this game thread before the start of Pro Qualifying. Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle will all compete at this event.
The NHRA website currently shows 17 Top Fuel, 17 Funny Car, 15 Pro Stock and 15 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries for the Lucas Oil Nationals, but this could still possibly change.

Please check to verify your picks are racing at this event. We still have two players with a "locked in" Pro Stock pick of Rodger Brogdon. In addition, it appears that Angelle Sampey in Pro Stock Motorcycle is also skipping this event.

You can find the current event entry list at
http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist17.aspx

The extended weather forecast for Brainerd shows 77-78F temps on Friday and Saturday, but then down to 62F on Sunday and 80% chance of some rain on both Saturday and Sunday. Could be a tuning nightmare.

Good Luck!

This is the last event before the U.S. Nationals. We're going to do something special with the scoring for the U.S. Nationals, the last event before the points are reset and we head into the final part of the season. Stay tuned for a special announcement following the Lucas Oil Nationals.

Does the NHRA 'Tricky Tipster' know something we don't???

Angelle Sampey is not entered for the upcoming Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd, MN, according to the event entry list shown on NHRA.com. But that didn't stop the NHRA 'Tricky Tipster' from listing her odds of winning the event at 16-1.

I don't think I want to go to Las Vegas with the 'Tipster'...

TF- Antron Brown
FC- John Force
PS- Greg Anderson
PSM- Eddie Kreiwic

Good luck Guys!!

Congrats to 'Duster79' (FABO) and '67cudafb' (FABO) for sharing the Top Qualifier title for the 2015 Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals with an outstanding total of 29.5 bonus points. 'Duster79' picked the #1 qualifier both in Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle, the #2 qualifier in Top Fuel and the #5 qualifier in Pro Stock. '67cudafb' picked the #1 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle, the #2 qualifier in both Top Fuel and Funny Car, and the #4 qualifier in Pro Stock.
'Gpuller' (FBBO) and 'cuda20' (FBBO) share the runner-up spot with 29.0 bonus points.
Great picks all!

18 active players this week and 6 players with 'carry over' picks from previous events. Remember, the "pick carry over" feature is only in effect for the "regular season". It will not be in effect for the six-event "Countdown to the Championship" following the US Nationals.
23 different driver combos this week made up of:
* 6 different Top Fuel drivers. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups but there is a possibility of two head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 8 different Funny Car drivers with two Round 1 head-to-head matchups. One between #5 qualifier Tommy Johnson Jr. (1 pick) and #12 qualifier Cruz Pedregon (1 pick), and one between #8 qualifier Del Worsham (1 pick) and #9 qualifier Matt Hagan (4 picks). There is also a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 7 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #8 qualifier Greg Anderson (9 picks) and #9 qualifier Jonathan Gray (1 pick). There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in the 2nd round of eliminations.
* 5 different Pro Stock Motorcycle riders picked with one head-to-head matchup between #2 qualifier Eddie Krawiec (13 picks) and #15 qualifier Hector Arana Sr. (1 pick). There is also a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
Good luck all!

...reminder, but your 'Week Before Your Tuesday Before The Event' U.S NATIONALS SCORING CHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT.
We're going to follow NHRA's lead and include a 50% bonus to all Round Win points for the U.S. Nationals event only.
All round wins at the U.S. Nationals will earn you 15 points rather than 10.
Qualifying bonus points, low E.T., Top Speed and National Record bonus points will remain the same as before. Only round win points will be changed for the U.S. Nationals.

One more thing, I'll have the updated points from the Brainerd, MN, race posted in the next couple of days. Sorry for the delay, but I've been dealing with a little home update project that's proved to be more involved than originally planned (aren't they all that way?).
