Here's your Tuesday before the event reminder about the first event of the Chase, the upcoming 9th annual NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC. Qualifying starts Friday.
The updated event entry list on NHRA.com shows 18 Top Fuel, 16 Funny Car, 17 Pro Stock and 22 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries.
Pro Qualifying starts at 3:15PM EDT (12:15PM PDT).

Congrats to 'johnnycuda' (FABO) and 'cuda20' (FABO) for sharing the Top Qualifier title for Lucas Oil Nationals with a nice total of 30.0 bonus points. 'cuda20' picked the #2 qualifier in all four professional classes; 'johnnycuda' picked the #1 qualifier in Pro Stock, the #2 qualifier in both Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and the #3 qualifier in Funny Car. Way to go!

'Budnicks' was the top FBBO qualifier with 28.0 bonus points.

We have 17 players for the 19th event of the 2016 NHRA "Pick 'Em game season, and the first event of the Countdown and 15 different driver combos made up of:
* 4 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of one head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations if they all survive the opening round.
* 6 different Funny Car drivers with two Round 1 head-to-head matchups. One between #5 qualifier Jack Beckman (1 pick) and #12 qualifier Del Worsham (4 picks), and the other between #8 qualifier Courtney Force (1 pick) and #9 qualifier Matt Hagan (2 picks). No possibility of any head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.
* 5 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups but a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in the second round of eliminations.
* 3 different Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers with no possible head-to-head matchups until the semi-final round of eliminations.

I know I haven't yet posted the game results following the Carolina Nationals, but here's your "Tuesday Before The Event" notice for the upcoming AAA Insurance Midwest Nationals from Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL.
The current entry list on NHRA.com shows 19 Top Fuel, 18 Funny Car, 16 Pro Stock and 17 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries.
I hope to have the results from the Carolina Nationals posted no later than Wednesday.
Last weekend was really busy with an out-of-town car show on Saturday and the Garth Brooks concert on Sunday evening. The absolutely outstanding concert went on until just before Monday morning! Yesterday was spent trying to stay awake at work.
