The reason for the delay is I was reading my local newspaper online yesterday during lunchtime at work and saw a pop-up notice that "The Time Jumpers featuring Vince Gill" were going to be playing a local small private university tonight.
Both my wife and I like Vince Gill a lot, but never having heard of the "Time Jumpers" I checked 'em out and saw:
Country legend Vince Gill and his superstar instrumentalist pals are Western swing artists of the highest order. What started out as a jam band of top session and sidemen has become “a Nashville institution,” says The New York Times, playing Americana roots music that’s real, true and from the depths of their souls.
It's a fairly small venue and the ticket prices were very reasonable, so that's where my wife and I will be tonight. Should be fun.

Enjoy he has also been on Crossroads with Clapton ! Just missed him when we were in Nashville. Great Guitarist ! He at one time was asked to be a member of Dire Strates.

Back in the mid 90's I saw Vince. He played his normal show for like 2 1/2 hours. Came back out for an encore and played for another hour! After the first couple songs people were leaving thinking he would be done and they'd beat the rush. He put on a helluva show.

Congratulations to 'cuda20' (FABO) for winning "Top Eliminations Pickers" title (2nd week in a row) for the Dodge// NHRA Nationals with a very nice event total of 149.0 points. This week he picked the Pro Stock Motorcycle class winner, both his Top Fuel pick and Funny Car pick lost in the final round of eliminations, and his Pro Stock pick lost in the semi-finals. He was helped by E.T. bonus points in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
'71dartswinger' (FABO) was the event runner-up with 146.5 points.
'alsant' was the top FBBO finisher with 127.0 points.

If you watched the television coverage, during the second round of Top Fuel eliminations did you catch when they cut to the top of a hill overlooking the track? It looked like there was a group of Amish teens standing there watching the racing. With only a one-horse buggy and maybe a two-horse wagon back home in the barn, they probably had never seen so much horsepower in one place before!

The next event is the 31st annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals, Oct. 13-16, at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX. As always, your picks must be posted before the start of Pro Qualifying that is scheduled to start at 5:15PM EDT (2:15PM PDT) on Friday, Oct. 14. The entry list on NHRA.com currently shows 17 Top Fuel, 18 Funny Car, 17 Pro Stock and 17 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries but those are always subject to change by raceday.
If you made any changes to your 'locked-in' picks this week and didn't specify the changes as new locked-in picks, then you'll reverted back to your previous 'locked' picks for the FallNationals and beyond.
