2016 6th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Get Ready To Make Your Picks!!!

Yeah - they've made PS and PSM the red headed stepchildren. They don't even show those categories in eliminations until half way through the broadcast. And the announcers still suck.

Final Top Qualifier title of the 2016 NHRA season goes to both '71dartswinger' (FABO) and 'cuda20' (FABO) with very nice totals of 28.5 points each. '71dartswinger' picked the #4 qualifier in Top Fuel, the #2 qualifier in Funny Car, the #3 qualifier in Pro Stock, and the #5 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle; 'cuda20' picked the #4 qualifier in Top Fuel, the #5 qualifier in Funny Car, and the #1 qualifiers in both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Way to go!
'Nick2317' (FBBO), 'Budnicks' (FBBO) and 'ocdart' (FABO) were right behind with 28.0 points.
Good luck all in eliminations tomorrow!

We have 16 players for the 24th and final event of the 2016 NHRA "Pick 'Em" game season, and the final event of the Countdown. 16 players and 14 different driver combos made up of:
* 5 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of three head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations if they all survive the opening round.
* 5 different Funny Car drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations if they all survive the opening round.
* 4 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #7 qualifier Drew Skillman (2 picks) and #10 qualifier Allen Johnson (1 pick). There are no potential head-to-head matchups in the second round of eliminations.
* 6 different Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in the second round of eliminations.

Good luck all!!!

Yea Ha !!

good picks ocdart, me & nick great picks

Glad to see Ron Capps
clinch the 2016 F/C Championship
Congrats to Ron, he's certainly earned it after 20 year,
he is my personal favorite racer in F/C, great guy too...

Just read on CompetitionPlus.com that Morgan Lucas Racing will not be back next year.
Morgan Lucas announced to the team over the weekend that he is disbanding the entire operation effective at the close of the 2016 NHRA season.
Looks like Richie Crampton will be looking for a new ride and Aaron Brooks is now available as well.
The reason is increased responsibilities for Morgan running the family business and also a possible cabinet position for Forrest Lucas in the Trump administration.
Sorry to see a class act go.

I'll post the end-of-season results either tonight or tomorrow.
It was a really busy weekend!
I will say this for right now...the finish was the closest it's ever been. Who knows? I may even have to do a recount!

Well,
It was a Great season!
Congrads to you guys who finished "High" in the points!

Thanks OC Dart for "Babysitting" me on numerous occasions, awakening me to get my pics in!
Budnicks for making sure my pics had "Names" Ha HA!

Just read that Mopar and Elite Motorsports officially ended their deal in NHRA Pro Stock.
It didn't say specifically that Erica Enders-Stevens and Jeg Coughlin will be in Camaros in 2017, but thats the way it looks.
Pietro Gorlier from Mopar said that Mopar will continue their relationship with DSR in both Top Fuel and Funny Car and they will also expand the Mopar presence in NHRA Sportsman racing. No official mention of future Mopar involvement in Pro Stock.

Saw this also ....Im glad I don't like EES at all ......

It could possibly be similar to FORD when they pulled out to concentrate on the Grass Roots racing.....
Just saying....
Maybe, we'll soon see it is the silly season, after all,
seemingly playing musical {chairs}, sponsors, cars & drivers
you never know until Pomona Winter Nationals

Yea Ha !!

Yes, I personally "like" Ron Capps
Also I LOVE Antron Brown
A swell guy!
Positive, bright, great American

I don't suppose they'll throw a bone AJ's way - seeing as how he finished ahead of both of the factory Mopar pro stockers this year. Maybe he'll pick up a little bit of assoc sponsorship change from them. Anyone notice how Reif said AJ won his sponsor's race in Denver again this year? I guess he forgot about Marathon being AJ's sponsor.

He probably meant manufacturers event, Mopar Mile High Nationals...

Easy slip up...

Sad if Mopar pulls all the P/S full factory sponsorship...
Even if it is Elite motorsports I'm not a fan of miss piggy,
I've always like Jeggy...
I'm not sure why the Mopars aren't running better,
they had the HP mph, just no good car set-ups, seemed like to me...
The EFI thru a wrench in the mix,
but no reason it can't work as well as the
Pro-Camaro's do, makes no damn sense...

Get the factory RD & Engineers involved, fix it, damn it...

Back to the dark days of the 80's again,
no real Mopars door-slammers factory Pro's

OK!
Did I make you wait long enough?
Is the suspense just too much to take?

Here are the final 2016 NHRA "Pick 'Em" game results and point standings after completion of the NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway at the Fairplex in Pomona:

Congratulations to me, 'ocdart' (FABO) for being the top picker the last event of the 2016 NHRA season. Talk about "too little - too late". I ended up with 128.0 points after picking the class winners in both Top Fuel and Pro Stock. My Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle picks went home after losing in Round 2 of eliminations. And my picks weren't any help with either E.T. or Speed bonus points.
'cuda20' (FABO) was the event runner-up with 123.5 points.
'Nick2317' was the top FBBO picker with 118.0 points.
Good picking guys!

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - J.R. Todd, 3.680 during qualifying
Speed - Tony Schumacher, 329.34 during qualifying

Funny Car
E.T. - Jack Beckman, 3.825 during qualifying (Fast Jack set a new National E.T. Record of 3.884 during Round 2 of eliminations last year. Look how much that record changed over the past year.)
Speed - Jack Beckman, 332.84 during qualifying (Matt Hagan set a new National Speed Record of 331.45 during qualifying at this event a year ago.)

Pro Stock
E.T. - Jason Line, 6.545 during qualifying
Speed - Jason Line, 2111.33 during qualifying

Pro Stock Motorcycle
E.T. - Jerry Savoie, 6.825 during qualifying
Speed - Hector Arana Sr., 196.82 during qualifying

So now we have 3 months to rest up and get more done on our Mopars each weekend.
The 2017 NHRA season kicks off with the Circle K NHRA Winternationals, Feb. 9-12, right back at Auto Club Raceway at The Fairplex in Pomona, CA.
I've already got my ticket for Friday qualifying and I'm more than ready for that first "nitro fix" of 2017.
See you there!
Watch for the 2017 game notice post sometime in January.

Happy Holidays all!

thanks for another fun year .....if I could just get my TF and PSM picks together Id be good

Congrats Nick great picks

aslant damn you were close, way to represent this season

ocdart thanks for the time & effort

see ya' next season

I did well in T/F picks

I'm a bit surprised I didn't do better in P/S & F/C overall points
I had picked the eventual champions of 2 {almost 3} classes
most of the whole season...
I only veered away from them {Kraweic} Line & Capps occasionally...

It is what it is, always next race, next season, it was fun...

I did well in FC considering I picked Hagan for every race out of loyalty
