2016 6th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Get Ready To Make Your Picks!!!

No reminders if you don't get your Gatornationals picks posted before the start of qualifying on Friday!
The scheduled start time of 12:45PM EDT (9:45AM PDT) for Friday (March 18) will be the cutoff time for posting picks.
There will also be a delay in posting the results after the race.
Why?
Because I'm leaving for MATS in Las Vegas on Thursday morning and won't be home until late Sunday night and then back to work Monday morning.
I'll do the race recap and post results as soon as I can get to it.


Also, this is your Tuesday-before-the-event reminder to get your picks posted.
The NHRA website currently shows entries for:

16 Top Fuel
16 Funny Car
15 Pro Stock
26 Pro Stock Motorcycle

So please check to verify your pick is entered for this event.

Here are the results and point standings following completion of the 3rd event of the 2016 NHRA season.
Just like the Winternationals, big names going down early had a major impact on the point totals this week.

Congratulations to 'cuda20' (FABO) for being top qualifier for the Amalie Motor Oil Gatornationals with a very nice qualifying point total of 30.5 points. His Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle picks qualified #1, his Funny Car pick qualified #2, and his Top Fuel pick qualified #3.
'alsant' was the top FBBO qualifier with 28.5 points.

Congratulations to 'Back in Time' for being "Top Eliminations Picker" with an outstanding event total of 204.0 points. He picked the class winners in Top Fuel, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and his Funny Car pick won two rounds of eliminations before losing in the semi-finals. He was also helped with both ET and Speed bonus points in Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and National Record ET bonus points in Funny Car.
'64BEL was the top FBBO picker with 119.0 points.

The 4th race of the 2016 season, the 17th Annual DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals, is April 1-3, at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegasm NV.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, April 1 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 4:30PM EDT (1:30 PM PDT).
The DENSO Spark Plug Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 15 Top Fuel, 17 Funny Car, and 16 Pro Stock entries, but the counts are subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist04.aspx for an updated entry list.
Pro Stock Motorcycle will not run again until the 5th race of the 2016 season at Charlotte, NC.

There will be a new Chief Starter at the DENSO Spark Plug Nationals in Las Vegas this coming weekend. NHRA sadly reported yesterday that Mark Lyle passed unexpectedly last Sunday.
Lyle had been Chief Starter for the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series since 2012. He was only the third Chief Starter in NHRA history, along with the late Buster Couch (1955-1996) and Rick Stewart (1996-2011).
Division 6 starter Mike Gittings has been named the interim NHRA Chief Starter for this weekend’s DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals at Las Vegas.


Here's your Tuesday-before-the-event reminder to post your picks for the DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, NV. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 4:30PM EDT (1:30PM PDT) on Friday, April 1. No fooling (sorry, couldn't resist).
