295 50 15 on 66 charger rear?

Thinking of this size for my 66 charger rear. Says I need 8" rims and I was wondering about this being a good fir? Anybody running these and if I buy new 8" rims what should I look to have for backspacing. I currently have 7" rimes and I want to go a little wider? Thanks
 
I am running these on a 71 Charger with 10" rims.

With an 8" you could safely go with 3-1/2" BS. With a 10" wheel you'd need 5-1/2" and possibly a 1/4" spacer
 
295 x ? On a 10x15 inch rim works well on a 66-7 Charger. I am running a 275x60x 15 on a 8 inch rim with a 4.5 backspace.
 
A 295 50 needs a ten inch wheel, and with the open wheelwell of a first Gen charger, a ten can work.... with the right backspace (UNLIKE a coronet or satellite. )
My personal opinion only.... I would prefer a 275/65x15. I like the look of a filled wheelwell length wise, and a 295 50 looks too short to me. A 275 65 on an eight is easier to fit, too.
 
295/50/15 + 8” rim = lots of sidewall bulge.
I should have gone with 275/60. It would be about 1.5” taller too.

A 295/60-15 will give the same Overall diameter as a 275/65-15, if you're also looking to fill the wheelwell.

Actually I think mine are 265x15. I have close to 1 inch to the front wheel of the wheel well. Made a trip over 4000 miles return. Worked well.

I believe I've seen this car and it has 275/60R15s..
 
I have 295/50/15's on 15"x8" on four different sets of rear wheels and tires. However, none are on a 66 Charger but they will also work on a 66. I don't like the jack up look so I try to keep them low.
