Theoretically, a set of 426 HEMI rods (.100 longer than 440/426 wedge) could be used with a 383 piston, and be a reasonable amount down in the hole.
I'm betting a custom forged set of pistons is the cheaper route.
The egge pistons above are basic rebuilder cast pistons that are three times what they should cost, because they are custom too, (six week wait) and nobody else makes em.
As others, including me, have said, the best cheapest way to use a 426 wedge block is to bore it .070 and use 440 pistons.(if you cant find used pistons, that is).
Whatever you decide to put together for that block, it will need to be balanced.
Edit: way back when, boring a 383 or 426w .040 or .060 was commonplace. If .060 doesnt bother you, boring to .070 is literally making the cylinder wall only .005 thinner. If custom forged .040s are $1000, and 440s are $500, i know which way i would go. (Sonic testing is your friend tho, first).
