I recently purchased a 65 Belvedere with a 440 backed by a 727 into a 3:55 rear end. Since it was almost a "barn find" the senior gentleman I purchased it from could not provide a lot of details. From what I can gather so far:
- 1970 440 block, 906 heads
- Edelbrock Performer intake matched to heads
- Huge Holley double-pumper - No choke. Based on physical size only, 800-900 cfm ( and I intend to replace it with a 750 with an electric choke and vac secondaries)
- old Mopar Purple 484 cam
- 3" pipes from cast manifolds to rear bumper
- Appears convertor ( stall ) is not stock as it does not load up
Ok...now for the question ???
...Already has min-starter so should not be clearance issues there.
Anyone know of a brand of header for a 440 into a 65 Belvedere / Satellite ?
Since it's destined to be only a cruise night car, with a "60-70's " nostalgia look, I would have even considered fenderwell headers, but I'm afraid the PB booster won't give me the required clearance.
Thanks in advance for any directions. Much appreciated.
