63 fury bm deep trans pan

we just installed the deep bm pan on our 440 63 fury with a 727,have the car still up on jack stands,motor and trans are both mounted,this is the angle of the trans pan,does this seem correct?the pan is not deeper in the front,this is the angle of the trans after the install,anyone have any experience with these pans on a 440 in an olderbbody

Are you using the correct engine & transmission mounts ? What about the transmission X-member ? It sure looks "off" from here...

  car is on jack stands on the frame,car has the conversion trans mount form joe suchy,all correct trans crossmember,have not looked at it on the ground yet,didnt think it would make a difference if it was down or not but I dontknow

Not gonna address the angle but I will give you a heads up about a often missed detail when adding that deep pan.... There is a spacer for the filter, starting in 65 it only needs one hole through it for fluid to feed the pump.... 64 and earlier uses a rear pump... Most of those spacers I've seen didn't have the second hole.... It's easy to add it but it has to be there.....

I think your correct... I'm not an early car guru.. But I do know some important details like the hole in the filter extension...

It's not the pan (though the engine trans do lay down about 1 degree to the rear). Its an optical illusion. It's the headers pointing down. Compare to the frame rail. And yes up to 65 have a rear pump. Thus a 2nd hole in the filter for the rear pump feed.

But think about this, the top of the fluid level is in the same place whether the pan is a inch deeper or not. A standard filter with no filter extension and the fluid filled to the proper level, will be submersed in the same amount as with a stock pan. Drag racing or rally racing, I would suggest a extension.

Most Deep pans come with the extension to drop the pickup to the proper level. As dvw stated, you need to have the 2nd hole in the extension, for the '65 Trans, with the rear pump. I just went through this with my '63 MW build, as I am using a '65 slip yoke, cable shift version, to keep my PB selector functional...

I think your right,ill have to drop te car down to check it on all fours,still have to put on the 3 inch tti exhaust so didnt want to drop it down yet,also the brake lines and fuel system,thanx

well here we go again,ill start by saying this is a 63 fury with a 440 and a late model 727,it has the poly conversion motor mounts and a conversion tranny mount thats supposed to be for a 66 and later 727 in a 63 bbody,we installed enging and trans with a deep bm tranny pan,thats whn we noticed the front of the tranny pan was tilted way forward,we let thecar down off the jacks and its still the same,whats going on,is this trans mount wrong?got it from joe suchy,its a conversion trans mount,looks about at least an inch taller than the original which idont have,any idea what could be going on,its no illusion,the trans is too far up in the back,ive added some pics so if anyone has any knowledge of this situation please advise

I compared your photos to my 65 that has the deep aluminum pan and conversion tranny mount.
Looks the same.The pan has a tilt to the front of the car.I did shim the mount to correct pinion angle 3/32'' but has no bearing on how the pan is designed.Been that way since 2003. I think you are fine.

thanx for the reply,ya just thought since the pan is square and not angled it should have sat straight,never ran one of these before,ill have to check pinion angle now,looks like its sitting in the tunnel kinda high,is there a cheap pinion angle checker

I just took a look at my 65 Bel, which I am finishing, and I am using the same conversion mount from Joe Suchy. Looks the same height as yours. I compared it to my original trans mount, and it is only 1/8th inch taller. I have a deep pan also, except it's a steel pan, which has a slight slope to the front. You should be good.
