The white Sport Fury was my dads car back in the eighties,I went with him to buy it the day he brought it home. 30+ years later I just bought it back. Looking for a console for it right now and get it back on the road. Red one is a MW high comp auto car, also have a high comp T-85 car that is a project and a wagon
I count six 63s! You win! What got you so into 63 Plymouths? Is your wagon a max wedge clone or a 383 3 speed on the floor, I didn't know they offered it that way, or column shift , I had a Fury with a 383 3 speed on the column.

Just got FRUSTRATION ready for the race at Cecil Co. on March 31st. Have the original 4" Cragars for the front. Had to start it for the first time in a while yesterday. I accidentally left my phone charger in the garage last night. When I went in to get it this morning...the smell of race gas lingered and made me happy. It doesn't take much!

Glenn,

I have seven currently. 2 Savoy high comp max wedge cars - they are twins except one is a auto and one is a t-85. Savoy wagon big block auto, Belvedere sedan, Fury hardtop (got married with this one there), Sport Fury hardtop and convertible. I have other cars but thats the 63's. Sold another Sport Fury hardtop on this site a few years ago as well as a Belvedere hardtop.

The white Sport Fury was one of the ones that started it for me as well as a 63 Belvedere wagon my dad raced around the same time.

I seen your car at the Farmington Minn. show a few years ago I think. Hung around it for awhile to talk to the owner but never did end up seeing you.

Sold the blue 4 door to a guy in Iowa that made it into a 3 door. That's my daughter sitting on the hood of the Fury, she's 22 now and engaged to be married.

My dad sold the racecar wagon in 1989 and the same guy still owns it today. Even stranger is that my youngest brother and his daughter have been dating for 5 years now and plan to get married.....lol.

Going to add a few pics of past and present Max Wedge cars of mine. Max’d Out is Arlen Vanke’s Ol Brownie car that was campaigned by Arlen and Bill Abraham in the mid 60’s. Later re-painted by my good friend and partner Phil. We still have the car and are planning to run a few races this year. I bought this car in 1985. The “Tan Car” was the car that started my interest in Max Wedge cars, particularly of the 63 Plymouth persuasion. I bought it in 1977 and sadly had to sell her in 2009. It was also a real Max Wedge car as is Ol Brownie.

True tales from the dawn of the muscle car era. What a time that was; never to be repeated. Just old enough to have enjoyed a brief couple years of it cruising among the friends and the competition racing after dark on the country roads. Surprised sometimes that I survived!

What a collection of '63's! Didn't know there were that many of us around. I go to a good number of shows and pert often I'm the only guy with a 63 in the bunch. I'll usually see more 64's and 65's. And over the years I've come to like the wagons more and more. Had a chance to snag a pretty solid one and passed it up. On the trim for the Fury model I heard that was done to make the car appear larger and guess it does as a few people say it's a big car which it's not. I read that Chrysler had did some fast downsizing in '62 as a competitive strategy against GM and Ford mid-size models that also made them an attraction for the drag circuit...ok...you can tell me I'm telling you what you already know. I think the dawn of the "muscle car era" began in 63 when mopar brought out the 426. Debatably the GTO usually gets most of the credit.
Haha OK you’re close! For Mopar it was 1962 with the 413!
