Agreed - remember the Beach Boys song "Shut down?" 413's really digging in...

Looks like Bob Meyers old car out of the black hills? I thought I heard he had passed away if it is.

Wow I love this post as I love the 63's. To think you could buy a street legal 425 hp car with 13.5 comp in 1963 was awesome. And it would have cleaned any GTO's clock. I am so glad I was lucky enough to get mine. You all have some awesome 63's that I enjoy seeing. Ron

Ron I met Tom from Fondulack , he has a white 2 door hardtop Fury and my two, that makes four in our neck of the woods that I know of!

Very cool thread guys was just checking them out got a 63 413 tach drive distrib in the other day trying to figure out the cars it was used in.

Glenn - There's a guy in the Milwaukee area I run into every so often at a couple of shows with a pristine red '63 wedge. Looks identical to the one pictured in the post above. Another guy lives just a few minutes from me (Hubertus) having a couple Plymouths; one is a '64 Fury drop top 426. He's a walking encyclopedia on the early B's. So yeah they're around here too!

I can't handle those OE judges,and I can'y leave ANYTHING alone.!!!
Some guys are super picky about their resto's; all has to be original or they consider the redo a lower class of work or not done right. Great they do that; but for me it's about modernizing while pretty much retaining the original look of the car. I put in a '65 rear/axle to drop the old tapered shafts, dual res front disks, firm-feel steering, 15' magnums, wide radials, headrests to the original seats, found an original sway bar from a police car, HD leafs, among other things in the effort to make it a nice-tight driver. It likely drives better than new; certainly a world apart than when I drove it before the redo. If ya look at it from a few feet away the only thing that looks different are the wheels and tires and the chrome tipped 3" exhaust.
