68 gtx

morning all.
have a 68 gtx in mind to purchase .
440 4 speed dana 60
has buildsheet and tag
in the build codes section of buildsheet under axle it says 408.
i did not think this was correct code for dana 60??

408 is the code for sure grip. The code for dana 60 is 406. On your fender tag under AX the code will be 68 for a dana 60.

Code 406 is also for an 8 3/4 with a 3.55 ratio, but a 68 GTX four speed would have the 3.54 dana.
