The finished product. 56K miles and all of it's original sheet metal. The GTX served 1/4 mile track time in it's early life and the dana was running 4.88's. The NHRA decal on the lower of the rear window is somewhat weathered now but still in place today. The same goes for the hooker header decal on the heater box under the dash. It was left untouched and remains. It was only fitting to install new ceramic coat hooker headers during the X's freshening. Cool eh!

Ordered a 440 4-speed GTX in January '68. Arrived in less than 4 weeks. (code 691 - Expedite). Still own it. Turbine Bronze, black interior, console, disc brakes, black vinyl top.

First pic was when it was less than 2 weeks old because it still had the ugly black stripes on the side. They came off right away.

Second pic was shot at work a couple of years later.

Last pic was shot at a car show.

Don't have any recent pictures. It's been in storage since 1-73 and is, currently, undergoing a freshening up at my friend's shop.

I'll try and shoot a couple of pics when I go up there

You have one awesome car there, my new friend. I've owned two 68GTX440's and one mint 70 Charger RT 440 Six-pack 4-Speed (Turbine Bronze) in past years. I am currently restoring my 2nd GTX and have a favor to ask you about the "Spare tire mounting bracket". I need to know exactly were it is welded to the trunk floor. The prior owner of my car removed this bracket for racing purposes and covered over the surrounding area with metalwork to the extent, I can not reference it's original position. I have looked at photos of replacement floors, but would appreciate a photo or two, c/w a couple of measurements in order to weld in my replacement bracket correctly. Please help me, if you can. Thank-you In Advance.
