68 Super Bee project

Neither of mine had them, but who knows over the decades if bodywork had been performed...
I take that back, my white '68 I bought from the original owner DID have them.
My front fenders had the holes drilled in them but my back quarters were about an inch thick in bondo. So that was my suspicion was that over multiple paint jobs they just got removed.

Oldie but goodie for ya!

So the dash has been in for a couple months now and the steering column as well. I’ve just been working through a few little electrical issues but it’s getting there. I also installed the bumpers from AMD. My front brackets were toast so I got new ones from them as well. All fit and look good. I painted the backsides of the bumpers as well before installation. Waiting in a new sending unit now and then I’ll put the windshield in. Had a shifter adjustment to make and put down some sound deadener as well. Getting close! My only concern now is the back order I’m hearing about from legendary.

Finally getting back to the Bee the last couple weeks. Got the carport in thanks to my awesome wife once again! Installed the front seat temporarily to be able tondo some test drives until we remove them for new covers. We also got the windshield in and went for the first official down the road and back test drive. Hoping to get an alignment done this week!

Love em! I did front and back bumpers and both look and fit great. I did amd front brackets as well and no complaints there either.

Thank you, I’m thinking of going that route when the time comes.

I'm beginning work on a 69 Coronet Deluxe that has been in the family since birth. Thanks for spending the time to document all the hard work. It helps to build confidence in all the hard jobs, like replacing the floor pans and rear quarters, etc. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

Made the journey to the alignment shop today. Everything turned out great. Cars getting closer and closer to being on the road! Got back home and gave her her first bath to.

Aww man, look at those expressions on those faces!
That right there is what it's all about.

I see one's practicing to be the boss though...with the straight face!
Oh she’s definitely practicing for sure! My wife tells her all the time her little brother only needs one mom and you ain’t it hahaha

That was the kids first ride. I’ve had the car for 7 years and they have always asked if I was ever gonna finish it haha.

That’s awesome, those kids will remember that ride and share how cool that ride was with all of their other friends for life!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Put a few miles on the Bee today. Unfortunately I think the main bearing in my trans is bad. My 1-3 shifts are real loud roaring sound. Everything seemed good when I put it all in almost 2 years ago but who knows. Guess I’ll be pulling the trans here soon.

Silly question here - but it is full of fluid and such, right?
What lube are you using in it?
