69 charger brakes

looking to rebuild my front power brakes on my R/T but can't find any replacement caliper pistons (centric 146.51010). what are ppl. using if not stock calipers? saw one caliper on e-bay for $595. loaded. are parts not made any more. alote of places list them but are out of stock. any info/help would be appreciated. sorry this page might be in wrong forum.

Try a NAPA parts store, I have gotten lots of loaded calipers for various projects over the years, just not lately.

Hi Jerry, I'm new to this forum, but just acquired my older brothers long coveted 69 R/T SE charger from him. His has rare 4 piston disc brakes up front, bendix, and I was able to replace the calipers from rock auto with perfect fit rebuilt ones-although they were not stamped with the bendix logo. I was hesitant to send the originals back for the $40 core each but finally did. They were rebuilt by Cardone, part number 18-4473 and cost $81.79 each plus $40 core charge. Good luck. It has been hard to find Bendix repair parts for at least 30 years. I've owned a few of those setups over time and I've always ended up pulling them off the car and selling them to people who really, really want to keep them. I replace the Bendix stuff with late model B body parts which are cheaper and better.

However, if you really want to rebuild the Bendix stuff then just be prepared to do some hunting. And don't be surprised if you get ripped off along the way. Lots of grifters in the Mopar world selling fake or bad parts. Maybe start by watching this video:

A buddy of mine, his dad had his done awhile ago with stainless steel sleeves. He’s never had a problem since. I asked him where he had them restored, so he’s looking for his invoice.

Have you checked Rock Auto for caliper kits and pistons?
Pretty sure they are listed.
Also try Harmon Classic Brakes.
They advertised their rebuild parts on ebay, all the time, but haven't had to look lately.

If you get your Bendix style calipers from Rock auto (or elsewhere) be aware that you may need to change out one of the caliper bolts on each one for your OE bolt with the tapped hole for the brake line/bracket mount.
One more reason to KEEP your OE cores.

OR: Drill & tap the new ones...

i used Harms to rebuild my Bendix calipers..... cant remember what i paid, but it wasnt cheap.

For those that want to keep the old calipers try ordering a caliper rebuild kit. Auto geek has them Pt # 14538-05106928 the bad news it the kit cost close to a rebuilt caliper. be sure to replace the hoses and hardware also

Nice job! - I'm about to do the same rebuild, had stainless sleeves installed already now just need to get them back together. Did you replace the return springs? I cant find a listing for them anywhere including PartsGeek, any chance you have a link to them?
