Next I bought a SS #9 sheet metal screw. It had a flat head so I chucked it in the lathe, used my file and made it a round head. Then polished it. And for good measure I put a spin nut underneath to make sure it'd hold.

Alaina spent the first full day in the garage with me. She did really well. I was afraid loud noise would bother her, but she didn't seem to care.

One of my vent brackets had a broken stud, so I drove it out and welded in a button head bolt. It's black phosphate, easier to weld and I can hold it if the welds break. Then installed.

Another bracket the spotwelds didn't hold. More welding....

I'm not sure what happened here. Anyway putting liners in.

I didn't have a rivet tool so I found a piece of scrap and made a divet with a ball endmill for the head.

Wasn't sure which to use so I went with super. Remember all those clothes pins from your trunk seal, you can use them again.

Lastly I got the seals installed in the vent frames. Looks like a rainy day this morning, good garage weather!

I think the spot welds were too hot and weakened the channel material. That and galvanized/zinc plated stuff doesn't weld very well till you get the plating off.
Very nice to see more progress!

Both those lower brackets were broke off on mine as well. Seems to be the norm.

Made my own anti rattle foam. I had new studs from mega parts but they didn't have the hex on top so used the old ones. They had a black tape on them, anti sqeak?

NICE to see things going together!!!! From what I went through I'd be installing that door glass to the vent post BEFORE installing it as an assembly. Just toooooooooo damn easy to damage that $$$$ mylar slider felt.

Thanks for the tip! Lots of things I'm finding that I am missing. So trying to do a loose fit up to make sure I got it right. But I will take all the tips I can get. Is the Mylar felt hard to find, or better yet one that fits correctly? Trying to figure out the rear quarter window tracks right now.

Not much I could type that isn't covered in my thread.. starting around here https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/mopa...ge-super-bee-coupe-restoration.145777/page-38

...but there are lots of other threads that I of course used to be successful at getting my own in. Reproduction felts are a nightmare as they aren't curved and not correct profile and the OEM's every time Chrysler had stock someone bought them all up and resold for $$$'s.
