Hello backache, time to sand the trunk.

Got the tubs and inner quarters sanded. Mask the trunk floor off sometime this week and spray them. Decided to do it in two steps to not worry about getting something in the middle of trunk while trying to spray half upside down

Sunlight on the door. Put it back on later in the week after the trunk gets sprayed. Just need to mask it off so it doesnt get messed up while finishing the other stuff.

Odds and ends today, sprayed the passenger seat panel tops. All was going well until the 2nd coat of clear. Spaced out and forgot to put the filter back in the gun and blew trash all over them. I hate trash. 3rd and 4th pic are the landfill ones.

Hot today, shoulda did this at 6am.
3 coats base, 1 coat of clear, 1 more to go. Hard to tell the difference in each layer with the picture

Areas like those are when you want a gun with a remote pot.

Yeah a small pressure pot would be great. I have a small 9oz cup on my gun so it helps a little.

Never fails, 2nd coat of clear and snagged my gun under the dutchman on the trunk bar and this..... the great flood of sunday the 22nd June 2025. I did remember the filter at least.

Might be a nice cheap little sprayer, Ill keep it in mind for the next project.

Passenger fender/door back on, driver fender back off. Got it in epoxy/chip guard, also got the inner done the same along with the core support shot in epoxy. It stays a little bit shiny so even though it should be in matte, I had this on hand and its durable. Can see the sheen difference on the last shot

Also filled in the long slot on the USCT brace thats cutout for a charger. Not sure why they cut the slot on them instead of having the customer that needs the slot just trim it out. Seems easier then having to fill it with a TIG rod.(at least for those of us without a charger)

Turned the car around to get some sun on the tubs. Looks good in the sun, cant wait to paint the trunk floor, engine bay, inside of hood and inner trunk lid. Mabye this weekend, probably next week more than likely. So much to do still, but its getting there.
