Why is it that some of my welds lay flat and look so beautiful and then the other ones look like a five-year-old did it?

This is the second day of laying in the trunk. I've been in there so long I feel like I'm homeless

Looks like your welding through the edm and not cleaning it off prior to welding.

I thought it would make enough contact just by drilling it out, should I be grinding it off first?

What I noticed is that if the molten puddle contacts the edm it will burn it away but if the arc directly contacts the edm, it blows a big hole and creates an erratic arc. I started cleaning the edm off of everything and the welds are much nicer.

Since 5.7 hemi suggested it, i have been grinding it, i still get random results so i blame it on the guy operating the torch lol. I just do alot more grinding in some places.
