Hello, I'm putting my brake pads on and ca't figure out how thwt retaning wire hooks up, I did not take the brakes aprt. Does anyone know how it goes on and where, pics would be great, thanks...

never used one on it before, the 73 Chassis service manual does not even reference one.

If it's the one I'm thinking of on a pin type caliper, it goes around the caliper on the outside and curls around the ears of the outer pad where the pins go through. It's supposed to keep the outer pad from rattling. Back in the day they tended to get "lost" a lot.

I was curious as to how they went on as well and then I thought "is it really worth it and do they work". Well my brand new ones are lost now just like Rev mentioned.

Ok, thanks for all the inputs, my buddy came over and figured it out, and you guys are right, it does not realyy need to be there, but since I got them, might as well use them. By the way, can you buy new pins, these are worn out...

Not sure if you can buy them separate. I bought new calipers for like 19.00 a piece and they came with new pins and clips.
