I bought a 74 Charger SE for a parts car but now I think it should be saved, what do you guy's think?
It's a factory 400hp/slap stick/bench seat car the 400ci is long gone but it has a running/driving 1970 440 in it's place.

This is what it needs:
Both lower 1/4s.
1 drivers front 1/4 floor pan.
Both bumpers and all attaching hardware.
Trunk lid.
Hood.
I have most of the interior for it now.
I also have a nice running 400 I could put in it.

I'm going to say yes.
Some of my cars were in far worse condition and I brought them back.

Probably worth it and considering you bought it as a parts car.......i'm assuming the price was cheap enough to make it a feasable project.

The deal is sort of a funny story...My bud bought it and was going to chop it up but I needed a bunch of stuff off of it for my Sundance so he and I made a deal....So I gave him $650.00 and one electric fan just for the shell and he keeps the 440/727 but one stainless barbecue $200.00 and some little b-body parts later I got the 440/727.So I guess all in total I have $850.00 into everything all togather.

A Big Block Mopar for that sort of money these days is a rarety to say the least, so yeah......go for it!

I'd say save it Sundance! Honest car that needs a bunch of work, but at least you know what you got.

I thought I'd check the car out better today.....I ended up totally rebuilding the steering column and repainting it lol. I thought all the under dash wiring was toast due to some critters big nasty nest under the dash.As it turns out all the factory wiring is fine it was all just hanging down. I just needed to replace the 2 harness in the column as well as the ignition cylinder. Then I got out the shop vac, turns out both front 1/4 floor pans should be replaced but still not so bad I guess...I'll post pic's later.

I love the 3rd gen Chargers almost as much as the 68-70's. But really the question is: Do you think it's worth saving? If you love the project it will eventually be done and you will be happy. If you don't it will likely sit half done in your garage for years. I say go for it...

I'm kinda going over board on my 74Satellite sundance so maybe this could make a nice driver on the days it might rain lol..Well at least I have a warm dry place for it untill I make up my mind.

The more you do, the more you fix, the more tools you have, the more you learn. I catch myself saying "Yeah...I can fix that" to cars that 10 years ago would have sent me screaming out of the guys driveway! Ten years ago I'da said F it. But with all the new metal available, the project isnt so big anymore. Plus, you are smarter now!

I know, my first Satellite needed both floor pans, the shop wanted $1500.00 plus to do them so I said "F" it and bought a Miller and some pans and went to town,I got it done for a round the same money but I got a nice welder out of the deal lol

So,I'm hooked on this car now and going to MOPARFEST 2010 tomorrow morning and looking for parts.I still can't say I'm keeping it but I can say I won't part it out.I'll let you know how I made out.

I got some great deals on parts today at MOPARFEST :)
I got a nice uncut rally cluster for $100.00
A front bumper with brackets, rear valance, both grills, a trunk lid ,a pass side dash insert ,both upper door panels and both upper rear panels all for $150.00
I'll post some pic's tonight.

Gold interior parts are kind of hard to find, and for some reason are double the price of other colors from Legendary, at least.

Good luck with that car. It looks like maybe about the same condition as mine give or take here and there.
