I guess we should make sure which case he has?
Yes .008 minimum for '69, (actually for '69 it's listed as .008-.018) but that slight change "should" be for the 489 case, with the cone differential?
.013-.023 was spec in '68, so 741/742.
They're simply giving you a starting point with the 'approximately 4 notches from zero'. If that gets it there, great...but I'd hope people check with a dial indicator (or the feelers).
So there you go @19 69 GTX you have the specs for both models, verify what you have first..

agree, right across the board. And of course, because I’m **** and like to check things, I did dial the 4 clicks and it was at .013”, good enough for me! Thanks for chiming in, the more info, the better the results!

Probably have one.....somewhere lol. I'll take a look tomorrow as I'm about to go in after being in the shop all day and the temp hit 97 a bit ago and dang.....screw that mess. Supposed to get cooler but when.
